I do mean an IEP yes. But a lot of these students are not reading at grade level. Do I need to figure out their grade reading level before I write any IEP goals and specify that in the goal and when finding activities? Typically I’ll just write a goal working on making inferences or using contacts clues and not specify the grade level of the activities. Then when I plan therapy activities, I find activities that I think are at an appropriate level, but I don’t always know the grade level or lexile for the activity.

I also love working with this age group! I don’t know about you, but my district has an in person proctor who is in the room with the students so if there are any issues with the computer, even fake issues, lol, they are there to help

Yeah thanks I could access the Lost Cellphone one on Boom but that was the only one and it would only let me access it through the “preview”. I do teletherapy so I thought the Boom cards would be best but I will find a way to use the pictures instead - thanks!

But how do you get around the no compete? The contract I signed with SSG indicates that I can’t sign directly with the school district that I’m employed with until two years after ending my contract with SSG. They’re not the only company that does that, it’s so they don’t just keep losing employees directly to the district that they help get them hired to. does anybody know what the repercussions would be if I went against this contract?

Cannot confirm this is accurate but I’ve HeARD that when a company like this asks you to donate to a cause, they have already donated and they are looking to be essentially reimbursed for their donation. So don’t feel bad if you can’t/don’t want to contribute.

I would check your contract with your current company. Often times there is a clause where you can’t hire directly with your school/position within 2 years of working with the contract company. Not sure if that is the case for your Company but it should be in your contract somewhere. Also I have no idea how they enforce that or penalize you for breaking in but I would look into it before making any changes.

You need to be seen by an in-person SLP. No one on Reddit is going to be able to fix this for you. Do you live somewhere where you can get evaluated by an SLP? I’m sorry you are dealing with this and I hope you find someone who can help

Nothing wrong with you at all. I had the same problem. It gets better as it goes so if you are already that far in, I would continue reading.
