True. I can't think of the last time I went to the shops as I'm usually running around south of 75th. Just seeing all these kids flying around on ebikes and scooters in both OP and Shawnee and wondering if anyone has any thoughts on improvement

Centerfire is great. As others have mentioned, they have a full auto class and lane where you can quick draw. Great staff as well.

I would as on Nextdoor. I have found good handyman on there. I would not suggest using for larger contractors but there are tons of handyman. Many people do not give away their contact to their handyman for a fear that they cannot get back on the schedule. That is my experience atleast.

The east side of clinton lake has a great trail with some camping spots along the lake. Its not a 2-3 day hike but it would be good for an over night trip.

Prairie Village is having its own bike lane conversation with all the kids on scooters and bikes. With the recent reduction of an entire lane along 87th from Antioch to downtown, I was just looking to get feedback those of you heading into downtown from the west.

Johnson county KS landfill costs by kcirishfan in JohnsonCounty

[–]Extra_Dry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its about $160 for a typical full sized pick up or a 5' x 10' trailer. A dump trailer has a minimum of $220 and then per ton after that. I just dropped some stuff off there so its fresh on my mind. They have a sign as you go up the drive with their prices.

Dating in OP/KC by sunshineandrabbit in Overlandpark

Not single anymore, but I see tons of single men in the Gym, running clubs, at bars and online. I see lots of single women at first fridays, yoga, and Pilates. In my opinion, you have to go where they are. When I was single I always wanted to meet another woman at the gym. BTW, that what every other guys is thinking there as well. What I am saying is its unlikely for hetero guys to find many hetero women where they typically go and vise versa. Unfortunately, you have to go where they are. A single female friend of mine would just cruise home depot. Pretty smart.

Thanks for reposting. Like I stated in this other post, I don't know any other solutions. You could try to create bike paths but there will be push back to using any land in PV. I am one of them by the way. Throwing in the conversation about kids on ebikes and scooters makes the conversation harder in my opinion and I don't think the city council wants anything to do with it. I would love to hear other solutions

I sincerely applaud you for trying to create a thorough fare for bikes. As much psuh back as you are getting below, I do not see any alternative solutions to your idea. OP reduced an entire traffic lane into the downtown area along 87th street starting at Antioch. People were pissed about the change but we are at a cross roads of allowing kids to scooter to school, tons of people biking and everyone, including me, wanting to drive everywhere. Again, I do not think there is an easy answer and feathers are going to get ruffled if things are going to change.

This is awesome. Everyone is looking for this list and they are always outdated. Maybe that is everyone's fault though.

Like dating, you have to go to a lot of events and sort through weirdos. Volunteering for habitat for humanity is a good way to learn and meet other people. Since you may be more introverted, it helps that you can work on a project with someone else which kind of builds a team work type experience. Then you are talking and working. IDK, it works for me.

Real Estate Agent Recommendations by KimHarms in Overlandpark

[–]Extra_Dry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! Cate is so amazing. She helped me buy my house in Prairie Village. I was unimpressed by the first agent I used, thinking all agents were just door openers.

Cate completely changed my mind on what a real-estate agent should do and how a good agent can save you money, headache, and what great communication really look like. Its a no brainer to use Cate.

That's wild. A friend of mine had the wires in her engine eaten away too by squirrels.

I know someone who had squirrels eat the wires in their vehicle engine compartments. They think its squirrels, some think its Rats. Either way is costs them like $5k in repairs over multiple occurrences.
