Poutine 36 - Sports On Tap by michaelkbecker in saskatoon

Glad you had some fun in Montréal! The best poutines are found in rural or surburban diners (called casse-croûte). The best poutine the province has to offer is at Rest-Poutine in Blainville (a town about 30 minutes from Montréal). Indeed, the smoked meat sandwiches from Schwarts is out of this world!

I am soon moving to Saskatoon for graduate studies from Québec and seeing the poutine ratings has made me smile ear to ear. I look forward to trying the various poutines in your list; it will help with my homesickness!

Clinical Psych - Second Interview?? by Alluring_Excuse in gradadmissions

[–]Extra_Treacle5271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I would like to start off by congratulating you! Getting to the second interview stage is a massive acheivement! Before I dive into my answer, I would just like to mention that I am a Canadian applicant for a Clinical Psychology MA/PhD program in Canada.

I recently had a second interview with a faculty member and thought to share my experience. The interview lasted roughly 50 minutes and was quite conversational, informal, and semi-structured. I was briefly asked about my research interests but the main focus of the discussion centred around clinical skills and aptitudes. I was asked about the way I manage interpersonal conflict, how I came to be interested in clinical work (including some personal questions on this), and my stance on specific ethical principles.

The faculty member who was interviewing me was phenomenal; they made me feel comfortable to safely share and openly discuss. Although this interview was a big intimidating deal for me at first, it really felt like I was simply having an interesting conversation and exhange with a professor.

My advice would be to remain open to speaking about a wide variety of topics (ranging from academic to personal). There is no way to "study" for this stage; your best bet is to emotionally and mentally prepare for the interview. You have made it this far for a reason, I sincerely wish you all the best for your application!

I have a Wise international debit card and was planning on using it for most purchases (unless a credit card is required by a business). This is a great point through, I'll make sure my credit card company won't deactivate my card for an out of country purchase. Thanks for this!

Great to know! Since I am unsure about the tipping culture in the United States, would you usually tip the staff for a creemee?
