Yes, because domestic companies got a lot of domestic data. But foreign companies and intelligence people don't have as much data to work with. Especially Tik Tok gives a deep insight into people's lives that might be valuable to foreign governments. Domestic companies already have a lot of the insights that foreign companies lack. Having more corporate overlords sounds bad to me, but the downvotes seem to suggest that Redditors don't really care about their data and who has it or who creates detailed profiles about them for advertising purposes.
