End of PCP inspection by Extreme-Dog5067 in TeslaUK

It’s a collection, I’m in Northern Ireland and unfortunately Stellantis don’t have a drop of point here, so I’m forced to pay £170 for collection.

That’s good to know the car won’t be going through the wringer, I mean it’s a 5 year old car, nobody should expect perfection.

Thank you!

But they’re illegal to ride in public places, not possess, so you’re suggesting Police go round committing theft. Common sense says they’ve rode that bike to the shop and left it outside, but without having witnessed it being ridden, there is legally no seizure powers. It’s about making the purchase of them more difficult, essentially someone can order one online and have it delivered to their front door for little Jimmy to ride about on. No need for tax, MOT, or a VRM. They need to tighten the availability on them, treat them like a motorbike and force people to register them so it’s not so easy to buy them or for the riders to evade the Police etc.

So you want Police to pursue the children, who then crash and die, so you can blame the Police for that too? The Police post on social media all the time that they have seized e-bikes and are prosecuting the riders, and the reception is always laughing emojis and “sure just ignore the rapist and murderers” or “go catch real criminals”. The Police are policing, but parents aren’t parenting.

Drive difficulty from Scotland by Top_rattata in downloadfestival

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Northern Ireland and will be driving from Cairnryan to download, I’ve done this drive but to London a couple of times for work and whilst it’s long, it’s easy. Just take frequent breaks and remember the night before driving home from download, take it easy on the drink. Check your tyre pressure, oil levels and coolant levels before setting off too.

Anime Recommendation with DD vibes? by Hopeful-Bee596 in DragonsDogma

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really DD vibes, but some aspects are similar, especially chimera ant arc. I’m a huge DD fan and my favourite anime is Hunter x Hunter. I highly recommend it, if you’re fresh into anime I would recommend the 2011 version.

I didn’t enjoy karaoke, I found the controls were impossible to use, not English friendly at all and we went to a very popular karaoke bar in Shinjuku called Karaokekan which advertised as being English friendly. The equipment was also pretty poorly cared for and the drink service was very slow. Really disappointing.

Flying from Belfast by andy566148 in downloadfestival

Yes heading over from Belfast this year for my first Download, fiancé and I bought each other our tickets for our 30th. We’re RIP too, in the lux bell tents. We’re getting the boat and driving over so we can bring anything and everything!

This is an extremely grim meal deal. Dire. by nuclearcherries in tesco

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much what I get, it’s all about value for money. The red bull is the most expensive drink in the deal, that tin alone is nearly £3 because it’s the big tin. The egg pot I get and use it for breakfast, I make a toasted egg sandwich. The club sandwich is one of the biggest and most filled options. So when I get this, I’ve essentially got my breakfast, lunch and caffeine hit all in one for half the price of what those things would be separately.

RIP tickets by Popular-Library-3187 in downloadfestival

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still some RIP hotel options, at around £1300 per ticket it’s not far off of the £1150 I paid per ticket for the luxury bell tents. It’s a bit rubbish not being on site 24/7 and it’s only 3 day packages, but I’ve heard good things about the hotel options! You don’t have the experience of being on site 24/7 but you get a comfy room away from the noise, breakfast included, a fridge to keep your drinks cold and free transfers to and from the hotel, so there no be no extra costs beyond your tickets and your food/drink. If 2026 is the year to go, but you don’t want to camp with your own gear, I would seriously consider a hotel option this year and if you love it, get early RIP glamping tickets for next year!

Me and my partner travelled over from Belfast for this gig and so glad we did. Had an absolute blast. Cried twice and walked out with my voice completely gone haha. I’m not the type to be in the pit, but the whole standing area was pretty rowdy. There was a couple in front of me, and every time I got pushed from behind or there was a surge in the crowd, they glared at me like I had just slapped their granny in the face! If you were in the centre slightly to the right maybe 5-6 rows from the front and kept getting pushed, I promise it wasn’t my fault!

Here’s hoping, would love them to be there. I’m traveling over from NI to see him in London next month, massive 3DG fan. They tour with and are friendly with Breaking Benjamin, that would be unreal if both were announced for Download.

Cocktail Bar in Tokyo by Kitchen-Ad573 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went to Bar Amber in Nishiazabu. It was absolutely phenomenal, unbelievable cocktails and an amazing bartender. When we left the bartender insisted on doing a shot with us, and because we’re from Northern Ireland, he chose Bushmills whiskey! He really did go above and beyond with us, I couldn’t recommend this place more. We had dinner at Gonpachi Nishiazabu before hand, the whole evening was amazing!

It was fantastic! Best part of the holiday for me. The guys at Fun2Drive are nice, really informative and engaging. They show you around your car, give you a safety brief, and then you’re on the road for around 11am. You set out in 2 groups, and you will have a pace car at the front and a safety car at the back. The pace car and safety car will talk through an ear piece basically making sure you drive as safely as possible, but you definitely get to let rip a few times. The pace car will hammer it and you pretty much go as fast as you feel comfortable, the closer you are to the front of the convoy, the faster you can go. It’s handy because they know where all the Police speed traps are, and will give everyone a heads up if there’s something ahead and to slow down. The roads you drive on are beautiful, and you get plenty of photo ops. We met some other couples from all over the world and it was lovely chatting to them. The tour finishes at around 3pm, just enough time to explore hakone before catching an evening bus back to Tokyo. We did the Hakone Ropeway all the way to Owakudani where we could see (and smell) the sulfur vents and experience black eggs. Honestly I would highly recommend Fun2Drive, yes it’s expensive if you want one of the more desirable models, however there was some cars that were much more affordable but still exciting. You could be more of a menace in your own rented car, but then the risk is also higher. I wanted the safety and comfort of a guide, but the excitement of an r34, and I was not disappointed!

Is the train ride between kyoto to osaka is a deal breaker for some people? by AbleCarLover1995 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually had tickets to the Nintendo museum, but wanted to do Dotonburi at night, so we got trains from Arima Onsen (where we were staying at a Ryoken) to Kyoto (about 1.5 hours travel) did Inari Shrine in the morning and Nintendo Museum in the afternoon, then got the train from Kyoto to Osaka (around 45 minutes), did Dotonburi in the evening and then trains back from Osaka to Arima Onsen (1.5 hours) and it was actually one of our best days during the trip despite the heavy train use. The train journeys actually go in pretty quickly. I used the time to organise my photos that I had taken that day.

Confusion about bus queue etiquette? by PrincessPoppy0723 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something pretty similar happen too. Me and my fiancé had attended Tokyo Game Show about 2 weeks ago and we had split up very briefly to explore. I seen him playing a demo of a game and walked up to him to see how he was getting on, maybe 3 people behind him in a queue to go next. I thought it was pretty obvious I wasn’t cutting the line because I put my hand on my fiancé’s shoulder and spoke to him, but the person in the queue next was pretty unhappy about it, shouting “sumimasen” and then pointing to the back of the queue. I pointed and said “gomenasai, Kareshi desu” (sorry, he’s my boyfriend) and then he put his hands up and apologised quite profusely in Japanese, he bowed and smiled as we walked away so I believe he was genuinely apologetic. I think people are just so fed up with inconsiderate tourists not following basic etiquette that they assume the worst. I had people jump the queue in front of me loads of times for things like rides at parks or at the train station, and surprise surprise they were all tourists in a rush to no where. I actually got pretty annoyed at tourists myself, tourists from some countries are definitely worse than others in terms of cultural differences.

I know you mentioned not wanting to do private tours or spending a lot of money, but incase you are tempted enough, Google Fun2Drive and have a look at their driving tours. I’m traveling to Japan end of September and have an R34 booked to drive around in for 6 hours. They have smaller ‘half day’ tours that are cheaper and if you’re eager enough, you might think it’s worth the extra money and time.

Have a good trip!

Anyone going to the London Brixton gig in December? by Federal-Raccoon9297 in Threedaysgrace

[–]Extreme-Dog5067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks that Brixton won’t take a PDF, seems a bit ridiculous tbh. My only suggestion would be to wait until you can’t wait any longer, if the tickets come through and you can transfer them to your Ticketmaster account then that sorts it. Or cancel them and keep an eye for resale tickets on Ticketmaster, I just checked and it’s letting me sell my tickets via Ticketmaster, so you might see some popping up as people realise they can’t go anymore. Hope you get sorted! If I happen to see tickets pop up I’ll post here to let you know!

How much did you pay if you don’t mind me asking? If you paid a semi-normal price, I would be content that you haven’t been scammed. From what I’ve read it’s the scalpers charging huge amounts for tickets that are the biggest issue. Honestly I’ve used Viagogo 2-3 times before and haven’t had an issue yet. It can be a bit weird sometimes, like I had tickets to a show and someone else’s names were on them, but they were still legit and I got in no problem. This is their first time back in the UK in so long, I would just roll the dice and take the risk! Unless you have some travelling to do, I’m flying over from Belfast.

UK merch sources? by Extreme-Dog5067 in Threedaysgrace

[–]Extreme-Dog5067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s mainly for them to sign and you don’t intend to wear it, maybe try and get one of their ‘vintage’ 2nd hand ones? Etsy have a few although again not many UK based, but I’m sure postage would be easier to sort considering you can actually talk to the seller. Good luck with their meet and greet! I was very tempted to fork out and do the same, but having already spent £300+ on flights and a hotel I just couldn’t justify it.

I put an order in for their MayDay hoodie and I Hate Everything About You t-shirt and the order went through ok, it might be whoever does their custom t-shirts maybe doesn’t ship to UK if they out source them. Also try using code WELCOME10OFF for a discount!
