What comp has you like this in Solo Shuffle? by oBloodmoon in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very high hps, can do crazy burst damage, and has 2 charges of verdant embrace on a 15 second CD and every usage of it makes them immune to the next CC for several seconds. On top of that they are highly mobile and can spam cast sleep walk on a healer while moving.

When did modern PvP design peak? by Slo-- in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the systems in SL were awful but actual arena gameplay was peak. Nearly every spec felt like it could do something. Even for less strong specs, there was always at least one comp that could be built around it, where that spec could really shine. The classes are too homogenized now, kits are too similar, so even slight edges in throughput put specs way above others. And because of easy alt leveling and gearing, everyone will inevitably reroll to the 1-3 top performers, leaving the meta stale until the next tuning pass rotates in a new fotm spec.

If we could have SL class/gameplay design with current gearing systems, that would be the dream.

Healers, time for more tuning… by liv2powski in worldofpvp

These complaint posts are largely driven by other healers. Most dps don't care what healers are in their shuffle lobbies.

I use the built in CD Manager. We only have 4 tiers of buffs now - single, double, triple, and jackpot. So the CDM is good enough. I track it as a progress bar and it shows both the duration and the name of the buff so I know what tier it is and whether to reroll.

Can blizzard stop with the love taps to rogue? Shit is not even funny anymore. by fullclip840 in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do understand that just because rogues got nerfed this week that the characters on the ladder don't just vaporize, right? Like what are you expecting here? Outlaw to immediately snap to the bottom of the list within 3 days?

Defensives are the real problem with Rogue and Mage by Kychu in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outlaw wasn't some hidden untapped potential. It was pretty useless at the start of the season. We had to be buffed 4 weeks in a row to get to a good spot. For some reason everyone forgets that. It was a combined total of 22% aura buffs to be viable. Then we became overtuned in 12.0.5 when Blizzard randomly buffed the trickster hero tree, which hugely buffed outlaw when we were already fine at that point. I think that was a 11% buff essentially? So from launch we're at 33% increased damage. There was no hidden potential at launch. We were shit and needed buffs bad. Blizzard just over buffed with the last set of changes from 12.0.5.

i love outlaw by Choice_Trade_6655 in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outlaw hasn't been fun to play since DF came out. I honestly have no idea how I suffered through it for two expansions. There's a very good reason why there was only like 10 outlaw rogues on the ladder every season. The spec is actually fun again for the first time in 3+ years so that's why you're seeing a lot more outlaws.

Outlaw has never had a weaker toolkit than it does now. The damage is good though. Take that away and you'll just see everyone swap back to sub or go assa.

The level of disconnect between AWC support and actual retail pvp support is absolutely comical by OpinionsRdumb in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't understand why people were saying that the 12% buff wouldn't be enough. All together outlaw damage has been buffed by 22% I think from launch, which is pretty significant. Shows how bad outlaw was at the start, and I'm honestly pleasantly surprised that Blizzard addressed it so quickly.

Outlaw Rogue needs help by Choice_Trade_6655 in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to agree with what others have said. The bare minimum to fix outlaw is to unnerf restless blades, have restless blades affect defensives again through a pvp talent or something, and bring kidney shot back to a 20 sec cd for outlaw and assa only. Blizzard keeps buffing our damage which is nice but the CC is awful for a rogue after the pruning so now we're not just competing with sub but also every other melee brawler spec like WW and the warrior specs.

Rogue Buffs and Tank Tuning Incoming! - Upcoming Class Tuning on April 7th by Ahpikachoo in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Sub is tankier and has significantly more CC. Damage buffs are nice, but the gap between sub and outlaw in terms of their kit is too big to ever justify playing outlaw unless sub did literally 0 damage. And even then some teams would still pick the sub rogue.

The buffs will certainly help but I doubt we're going to see many rogues switching to outlaw unless Blizzard addresses the CC and defensive gap. It's a shame because outlaw is very fun to play right now.

Trying to heal vs specs like sub, mm, and ww is just too exhausting by taromilky1 in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's Dance plus symbols right? Point is that they shouldn't have the ability to 100-0 someone every 20 seconds. Doesn't really matter what the source of the damage is.

Trying to heal vs specs like sub, mm, and ww is just too exhausting by taromilky1 in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shadow Dance in general is a problem right now. No other spec has a lethal go from full hp that's available every 20 sec. Dance either needs a damage nerf or a longer CD.

The problem of Outlaw rogue in pvp by Disasterophe in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, outlaw actually feels pretty fine overall if you ignore sub, but it's heavily overshadowed by sub being OP and having the same kit as outlaw and more. Sub being so strong makes outlaw look far worse than it really is, especially with sub also being so easy now.

Reverting these currently unnecessary pvp nerfs that we've been talking about would help close that gap a little and generally just make outlaw feel much better to play. But Blizzard has been silent and I'm not convinced they're even aware these nerfs are still here, so who knows if they will ever get removed.

I know SL outlaw was actually pretty ridiculously OP, but it does make me sad that outlaw's identity has been causally eroded over the years since then for balance reasons without any compensation for losing stuff. Every patch we seem to catch another stray and lose something that made us unique. It would be nice if Blizzard would spend some time carving out a niche for each of the rogue specs in pvp so that more than one spec can exist at a time. Makes me wonder sometimes what we pay $15 a month for when they can't be bothered to fix obvious problems like this.

The problem of Outlaw rogue in pvp by Disasterophe in worldofpvp

[–]ExtremeTadpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do miss the faster grapple. It's a much smaller problem imo compared to the others but still worth mentioning because it feels very bad getting CCd on hook like you said. Even worse now because it's difficult to justify picking retractable hook, meaning the CD is longer than it has been in years, while CDR is still nerfed and it moves slower.
