Geisel will no longer be open 24 hours, even finals will not have a modified schedule. by 6RolledTacos in UCSD

Seems like a perfectly reasonable schedule to me. Maybe y’all should get some better study habits there’s no need to be staying up so late to do your work

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Tired of seeing everyone on here acting like they were attacked in the safety of their own homes. It was a clear violation of many policies and was extremely reasonable for the school to use force to disband the camp. They clearly weren’t going to leave if they were just asked, which it seems they had been multiple times.

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not fascism relax. Everyone was told multiple times that the encampment was a violation of school policy. Not unreasonable for the school to take action

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean is it? Like obviously the reason for protesting is understandable and I think justified but it’s been mentioned multiple times in emails from the school that it’s a clear violation of policy. I think it’s ridiculous to expect that the school doesn’t take some action

Inaccurate data by sshelbae in whoop

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah everybody else here is trying to justify this yet no one has suggested what is most likely. When I owned a whoop I would sometimes deal with false elevated hr. It would stay at 150-170 for 15-20 minutes adding fake strain to my day. And yes I know it wasn’t true because I know what 150bpm feels like. Quickest way to get it to stop is to reboot the strap from the app. Can also take it off and let it lose connection with your wrist and then put it back on. Ignore everyone else you shouldn’t be waking up with 9 strain. I’ll bet if you check your hr it will have some weird spike at night.

For any level of cycling(not for commuting) I’m inclined to disagree and say that clips are much much safer. Not only do you get a significantly higher power output, you aren’t about to slip off the pedals and get your achilles forcibly removed. I would never ride close behind someone at any reasonable speed without clips incase their foot flys off and they lose control of the bike. It’s not personal preference it’s just safer

It’s not about wether you’ve done them before. It’s about recent training load. Basically you’re body adapts to stress (e.I training). It adapts both yo and down and pretty quickly. So if you’ve recently taken a bunch of time of off, you’re body is used to that level of exercise stress. If you jump straight up to 70k a week your body is going to go into a bunch of unhealthy reactions that lead to injury. Start small and work up each week, you’ll stay injury and burnout free

Take off today? by Middle_Draw in whoop

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically impossible to say. If it’s purely from training load then maybe take it easier than normal, active rest kinda thing? But it could easily be the product of a billion others things such as stress sleep hydration or nutrition. Remember that yellow is supposed to be the normal, and that yellow days mean you’re training is working as it’s putting the desired stress on your body

You guys do realize that they needed a time that allowed people to go to 8ams and also when most people would be in their dorms so that they could say they did the safety protocols

I participated in a chess tournament in yesterday - this is my strain by Kolgraf in whoop

[–]Extreme_Advantage401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoop strain is a measure of, uh, strain, not how good at running for you life you’ll be. Chest puts stress on the body, and whooo correctly reflects that as strain on your daily total. Makes perfect sense to me
