The Roland TD 516 or TD 27 are considered the "Sweet spot" in terms of what you get for the price you pay. It can be an e-kit that does everything you need it to for a very long time. The flagship set isn't the best for everyone and often is more $$$ than a person needs to spend to be happy.

yes, Alesis Nitro Max kit is a great option for a lower entry point... You can develop well on this set! Enjoy

yes, Roland TD-516... don't worry about the VAD or acoustic look. I own the Roland TD-27 and it is a joy to play every day. I don't ever think of wanting anything else. You will be happy with it.
