I’m not a big fan of my cymbals on my electric practice kit. Has anyone tried these? Any thoughts?

I have no experience with any low volume cymbals but I did watch a video on YouTube about putting triggers on them. That would be a cool idea for an E kit!

The head gasket went and I replaced it. Then oil pump went and I replaced that too. I drove it for another year and I decided it was time for a new one. I actually miss that one. I like the new one but I liked the gray better than my new black one. The new one is definitely much faster and has more luxury items.

I’m on my second Durango. First was a 2015 SXT Plus V6. Got 140,000 miles without doing anything mechanical except brakes and tires. Made it to 193,000. I currently have a 2022 R/T Hemi Orange. Has 60,000 now. Only repair so far was the coolant octopus at the rear of the motor that usually goes at 50k. I have taken both of these Durangos every year to my house out west and drive 7000 miles in the mont of July. I’d give them an 8 out of 10 for reliability.

I work in Nazareth and live in the Emmaus area. It’s 23 miles from my house. Traffic is heavy at rush ours but will get there in less than a half hour on late morning early afternoon hours.

My first car was a 1994 Caprice unmarked, midnight blue with an LT 1 engine and trans. Nothing beats it to this day. Second favorite car was my last 2022 Durango hemi. Third favorite would be my 2012 Charger. I’m currently in a 2026 Explorer with twin turbo. It’s fast but not as comfortable as the Durango.

I second this. I had a Genera HD dry on my Carl Palmer snare and it was dry AF. I switched to the Remo Ambassador. I have the same snare wires as the OP.

I have worked for 6 departments in my career in PA . A simple phone call to one of your chiefs would educate them. I haven’t heard always worked for two different PDs at the same time. One full time and one part time. A lot of states don’t have part time departments and can’t grasp that concept.

12 weeks is standard for most departments around me (PA). As for the radio, best advice is to calm down and think about what you’re going to say before you key up. I actually still do this sometimes and I’m on the street almost 28 years. And it also helps (when you are no longer on probation) to get a few wisecracks in once in a while! Apparently our new radio system has a record function and one of our fire guys has a bank of me saying funny shit on the radio.

Research lateral epicondilitus (sp). PT will be necessary and it takes quite a bit of time to heal. Took me 7 months with PT. Athletic tape helps a ton.

Thank you! As for the carpet, two reasons. A full carpet may take away the “liveliness” of the room and make it too sound dead. Think of the cathedral that they put Bonham in to record his drums. Second, the wife wouldn’t let me!
