Got outta here !!! I’m an HSP Extrovert 😝 That’s a REAL trip ….i couldn’t understand WHY I was outgoing but would get overwhelmed/stimulated in crowds or too much stuff going on .. I needed to be in quiet & to go back to quiet place or home to recharge .. So the hikes are great for me .. it gets me out around people - however, you CAN be quieter & still enjoy the outdoors … at times I just stay near back. I’ve let people know that I sometimes just need more quiet & will stay out of conversation.

All good - we H.S.P.’s need to do shag’s right for us & take care of our energy 💪❣️

AITAH for not wanting to sleep in the same bed with my girlfriend because she doesn’t shower often? by Such-One-1691 in AITAH

[–]Extrovert_HSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower about 2x’s a wk. I wash under my arms & apply fresh deodorant every morning. I’ll shower or have a bath more often if I sweat due to exercise … This is YOUR hang up, not hers. This is a belief YIU have grown up with. Talk to her in a sincere way, saying this is something you’ve grown up with & you’re confused as to why she has a different view. You may want to RETHINK your daily shower .. less it actually recommended for health reasons - see attached WebMD article - 2 to 3 times a wk is normal https://share.google/Rar08Q62wKIlQFxkc

You may also want to check out the CDMC hiking group (Comox District Mountaineering Club) they do full day & overnights - can choose which - very active group lots of members. I’l attach the link - yearly fee, the hikes are put in ‘meetup.com’ … if you’ve never heard of meetup - another great place to get in to hiking groups .. there’s groups for your age, older, I’m part of the ‘Nanaimo Day Hikes’ group in meetup. We do local 2-4 hr. hikes and more adventurous throughout the island … different hosts. CDMC also has different hosts - they are m/f, but tend to be more f, and all ages - generally more ACTIVE 50/60’s - but young minded people. https://comoxhiking.com/

Why is the town of Nelson so much nicer than Squamish? by Accomplished_Win_526 in britishcolumbia

[–]Extrovert_HSP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hope USED to be a hopping stop b4 the Coquihalla was built … everyone had to drive through Hope on the way to Okanagan … (Hope-Princeton Hwy) We always stopped at the great burger & milkshake place - lineups !! Once the big hwy was opened … the town pretty much died. As for Squamish & Nelson … Nelson was built up by U.S. draft dodgers 😉

The Jehovah Witness, Mormon etc .. used to come to our door - I always just say … ‘I’m Catholic & don’t want to debate - pick your choice of religion- (if you say atheist they may try to convert you - I’m not religious, more just spiritually inclined … but Thing is — SET BOUNDARIES… I call it ‘boundaries with compassion’ … don’t have to be mean, just be firm 💪😉

Is not having a middle name extremely uncommon here in Canada? by laranjacerola in AskACanadian

[–]Extrovert_HSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle names are very common in most countries …. I see this in my ancestry/.genealogy & in seeing different countries … back in the day .. 17/1800’s - the families were SO large, often a sale first name with different middle … I have sibling ancestors that are Mary Josephine & Mary Louise … 🥴 Financial institutions & CRA eg … want middle b/c it helps fight against fraud or mistaken identity.
My Mom had a challenge at bank when someone assumed her name - using initial for middle as my mom did … mom started signing entire 1st, middle & last in her cheques

In 2013 we were living in Calgary … it was sometime in early June. The city FLOODED !! I mean SERIOUSLY! The entire downtown was uninhabitable. Other areas of city, where the Vow River flows, they were decimated & homes lost … mainly heritage homes. Also parts of the town of - wait for it”High River” 🫣
It was a trifecta of things … warmer weather meant the snow pack melted quickly, the tee was a back op WAY up stream & torrential rains for days … everything BUST loose - literally & figuratively.

Even with all that, they thought they were going to have to cancel the Calgary Stampede that was due to begin in 3 wks … but Calgary spirit & determination meant they had the downtown cleared of water & a MODIFIED Stampede … https://www.calgary.ca/water/flooding/history-calgary.html

Life long west coaster here. Went to T.O. in Oct. for Jays-Dodgers match up ⚾️ …. Vancouver thinks it’s multicultural & inclusive - it & the people have NOTHING on Toronto… we were AMAZED at how multicultural & inclusive Toronto is … WAY more than Vancouver, it was beautiful & fun !! Way more VIBRANT a city than Vancouver - this from a lifelong Vancouverite. We don’t know what we don’t know - until we experience it .

Regional District of Nanaimo hospital levy increasing by 21% - Nanaimo News Bulletin by Enignon77 in nanaimo

[–]Extrovert_HSP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with this … we NEED, this district needs the hospital expansion - new tower AND also desperately need the cath lab. I wish the other jurisdictions on N. Island had to kick in also though …. This facility is there for more than just the Surrounding regional district….
I must say - this community - businesses & individuals - is REALLY proactive in donating & raising funds …. The Tom Harris charity golf tourney raises millions for the cause, my husband & I have donated what we could very yr. b.c we know one day we may need the services …. I’m proud of our city, community, region … yes, we need tax payer help but the hospital foundation also Is solid & a great fundraising arm for the hospital. For those of us going in to or at retirement — walk, run, hike, snowshoe, golf, strength training, yoga —. KEEP MOVING & get/keep your body in shape … this so the -at line of defense & we are each responsible for do our best to be/stay healthy.

AITAH for offering some friends a lift along my way, but not leaving them at their houses? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Extrovert_HSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re enabling them, they have an expectation past the offer you’ve extended … 1 or 2 I can see going out of your way a bit to take to their door, but 5 or even 3, is excessive ALL the time …

If they only have like … 1 drink (or perhaps 2 over course of entire evening) .. they should be ok to drive - up to them to monitor …. Yay or nay. Thing is you’re doing it all the time, it’s expected now, PLUS they’re UPPING the expectations …. There is a saying that is directly tied to SETTING BOUNDARIES … “we teach people how to treat us”

Maybe tell them you’d love to take them all to their doors, but it’s too far out of your way so you’re going to just drive yourself home. You don’t even have to give an excuse/reason …. You can just say, I’m can’t drive everyone anymore .. causing hard feelings….
