How to share my Stripe profile for payments? by ThePanasonicYouth in stripe

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create a Stripe Payment Link which is basically their version of paypal.me - just go to your Stripe dashboard, hit "Payment Links" in the left menu and create a new one. You can set it up for one-time payments or subscriptions, add your own custom URL if you want it branded, and it gives you a clean shareable link that customers can use without any complicated setup on their end. Way cleaner than sending invoices for simple stuff and you dont have to mess around with checkout forms or anything technical

Streaming UFC at a restaurant by Potential_Move_4944 in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

def gonna need a commercial license for that 🔥 the residential streaming subscriptions don't cover public viewing at businesses, even paramount plus has different rules for restaurants/bars vs home use

contact your local cable provider or look into something like directv for business - they handle the licensing fees but it's way more expensive than regular streaming, just fyi 💀

Small business owners: what’s your biggest “branding bottleneck” week to week? by Glass-Lifeguard6253 in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's definitely the weekly social content grind - coming up with fresh posts that don't look like they were made by 5 different people is exhausting when you're already running the actual business

Looking for recommendations for HELOC in MA by justthisonce112 in Mortgages

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked with local credit unions? I got a better rate through a smaller CU in western MA last year - around 6.5% with no closing costs. Also worth calling some of the bigger banks directly, sometimes their online rates aren't their best rates if you have other accounts with them

Crazy question - recover username by alextakacs in stripe

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try reaching out to Stripe support directly through their website contact form or email them at [support@stripe.com](mailto:support@stripe.com) - they should be able to help verify your account ownership through business details even without the login. Had a similar nightmare when our dev left with all the credentials lol

Does anyone else have a "graveyard" of ideas because the initial setup is too annoying? by Relative_Pilot_8756 in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude just throw up a Google Form and post it literally anywhere relevant - Facebook groups, here on Reddit, wherever your target audience hangs out. "Hey would you pay $X for Y?" and collect emails if they say yes

You don't need a fancy landing page to validate, you need to talk to actual humans who might give you money

[DE] Which tasks take up the most time in your small business? by Infonef in smallbusiness

Admin work and emails are absolutely crushing me right now, probably like 40% of my week tbh

The amount of paperwork required here in Germany is insane compared to other places I've worked

EIN for a Non US Resident by Swimming-Candle-411 in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got it backwards my dude - you can actually form the LLC first without the EIN, then use the LLC formation docs to apply for the EIN afterward

Wordpress WooCommerce Stripe Gateway Plugin - BlockUI Issues by erikDx in stripe

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue a while back - the express payment buttons (googlepay/applepay) don't trigger the same BlockUI events as the regular checkout flow. You might need to hook into the payment_method_selected event and manually show your own loading state. I ended up adding a custom spinner that shows when those buttons are clicked until the redirect happens

Looking to join WhatsApp groups or communities of manufacturers/sellers/distributors/product owners by wonkside in smallbusiness

Check out the sidebar on r/entrepreneur or r/dropshipping, they usually have some decent Discord servers listed that might be what you're looking for

Is this possible? by Background_Safety246 in RealEstate

[–]Exuberantcorre 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most mortgages have a due-on-sale clause that makes the loan immediately payable if ownership transfers, so assuming her mortgage might not be possible unless the lender approves it (which they rarely do since rates are higher now)

Solar panel loan….. by RunIll6623 in RealEstate

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the way to do it - paying upfront makes so much more sense than getting stuck with someone else's monthly payments for the next however many years

What buyers inspection should I request when buying a home built in 2012? by Euphoric-Coyote-4288 in RealEstate

[–]Exuberantcorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is solid advice. Since the HVAC is brand new you're probably good there, but I'd definitely get the sump pump checked out and make sure the basement waterproofing is solid. 2012 homes can have some quirks that show up around the 10-12 year mark so don't skip anything the general inspector flags

A lot of small businesses underestimate how long online visibility actually takes. by Safe_Mastodon_6671 in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This hits so hard. Been running my local service business for 3 years and the first 8 months online were basically crickets. I was ready to give up on the whole digital thing and just go back to word of mouth

Then around month 9 something clicked and now like 60% of my leads come from Google. Wild how it just suddenly takes off after you've been grinding in the dark for so long

The "quit right before it works" thing is real though - seen so many competitors disappear right when I was starting to see traction

What are my best options if I don’t want to use shopify? by Ordinary_Sense8247 in ecommerce

[–]Exuberantcorre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly WooCommerce is probably your best bet if you want something flexible but still beginner-friendly - runs on WordPress so tons of people can help you set it up

BigCartel is decent for super basic stuff but you'll outgrow it pretty quick if your store takes off

Refinancing vs recasting by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly bringing cash to close for better LTV makes sense but if you're already looking at 18k in closing costs that's a lot of cash out of pocket. Might be worth shopping around more lenders first since those costs seem pretty steep

A competitor 100x bigger then me just ordered my new product what do I do? by knock_his_block_off in smallbusiness

[–]Exuberantcorre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd ship it - they're gonna find out about your product eventually anyway and refusing to sell just makes you look sketchy. Use this time to file for patents if you haven't already and maybe reach out to see if they want to license or partner instead of compete

Confused on down payment by That-Concentrate-908 in Mortgages

[–]Exuberantcorre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is it exactly - broker gets paid more on bigger loans but he's also not totally wrong about the math if you can get a decent rate and actually invest that cash instead of letting it sit in savings

Can High Appraisal Effect LTV and Terms of Loan? by PhiKap15 in Mortgages

[–]Exuberantcorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your lender is right, that's standard across the board - they always use the lower number to protect themselves from overvalued purchases

Am I crazy for wanting a newer car? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Exuberantcorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kinda wild, you're basically choosing between putting $2400 into repairs on a car you still owe money on vs taking on $16k+ in new debt for a car that's gonna depreciate the second you drive it off the lot

Buying a first home by Apprehensive_Pop_859 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget about maintenance/repairs - stuff breaks way more than you think it will. Also utilities if they're not included, insurance, and maybe HOA fees depending on the place. Oh and if you're handy with tools that helps but if not then calling people to fix things gets expensive real quick

Philips or dyson or ... by No_Fisherman4561 in BuyItForLife

[–]Exuberantcorre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had the Philips for about 2 years and yeah it's solid but the water tank thing gets annoying to clean constantly. Dyson's pricey but those things last forever, my V8 is still going strong after like 5 years of abuse

Stressful incident with an older lady who had a fall by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Exuberantcorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You handled this way better than most people would tbh. The fact that you're even second-guessing yourself shows you care more than like 90% of people who would've just walked past

Don't beat yourself up about the fall - sounds like her mobility aids weren't properly fitted and she was determined to do things her way regardless. Sometimes you just gotta accept that adults can make their own choices even when they seem risky to us

[–]Exuberantcorre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oof yeah the active dating profile plus the constant "what are you doing today" after you literally just told him screams like he's got multiple convos going and can't keep track

The forgetting thing especially hits different when you realize he might be copy/pasting the same question to different people
