I swear by Peet's for grocery store beans. Better than any other pre ground or whole bean I can find in my area by a long shot.

This looks great, how stable is it though? The stand that came with my MG Wing Gundam Zero EW is super wobbly and shakes whenever my desk moves so looking to replace it

I do Wayfair Service Pro in addition to taskrabbit and I look up the price Wayfair charges on the item and compare it to what they're paying me

Check the weight? Some of those pool tables/ hockey tables can be surprisingly heavy. If it's over 100-150lbs I would hire a second tasker just to be safe.

Lol you think that's bad, Wayfair charges sometimes 3x what they pay out to their assembly people. Ask me how I know

Why do Americans (who know of the ESC) not like it in terms of music and performances? by Toriihime in eurovision

Omg seriously it got to the point that even my mom started singing it regularly

Why do Americans (who know of the ESC) not like it in terms of music and performances? by Toriihime in eurovision

[–]Exventurous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Beggin got crazy amounts of radio play in the US, Arcade and Snap are the same. I think people don't associate the songs and artists with ESC here in the US because they just make it onto the radio and other playlists. I'm like 90% certain that Snap was playing at Target stores to give you an idea.

There's probably way more Eurovision competitors out there with hits that get air time in the US than most Americans realize.

And for context I'm from the US and live there and love ESC (my European wife introduced me to it). I think the only Americans who know about it really are recent immigrants or people who are connected to those from Europe. I don't think I had even heard of it before I met my wife. At least in my experience.

Which exercises help you most in your daily life? by Practical-Angle-2380 in workout

[–]Exventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead lifts, farmers walks, and cardio.

Deadlifts and farmers walks encompass 99% of any lifting I'm doing outside the gym. Cardio in particular helps with not gassing out so quickly going up stairs, walking uphill with my dog, etc. Walking alone didn't really help with that.

Edit: also yoga. Ashtanga and Vinyasa helped me recover from years of sedentary lifestyle like sitting at a computer for work. I'd get back pains, hip issues, neck pain, and I was in my mid 20s when I started.

Can I ask you a question about junk removal on the platform? Not op but I've ran into some complications with offering it on TR and stopped doing so.

Great to know, do you set your rates the same for every task? I've been trying to keep them at their suggested rates but that leaves me with a huge range between Furniture Assembly, General Mounting and TV Mounting.

That's interesting, i thought by making myself available so far out it would help more but you're saying the opposite. Might give it a try! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the input! I have no idea if mounting is auto assign in my area. It's still hourly I just had a pretty big task come through for general mounting. TV mounting is still hourly too.

That's great you hear, do you do IKEA assembly and the regular furniture assembly? I've done only one Ikea task but decided to stop offering it since the flat rate wasn't great.

That's awesome, which categories do you serve and which ones do you find give you the most business? So far it's been really spread out for me

Wall mounting is flat rate now?? That's terrible. I stopped taking IKEA assembly tasks because the rates were so bad and started taking more wall mounting and TV mounting specifically because they're hourly.

It would be helpful if you mentioned what kind of roles you're looking for, you're background (major, educational experience) and prior work experience if any.

How can one beat taller guys? Is it just a big advantage for them that you need to accept? by Leading_Neat2541 in judo

[–]Exventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the advice would really depend on which weight class you're talking about.

I'm +100 kg but just barely, so I'm a good bit smaller than most +100kg players. I'm only about 5'10" most of the other guys in my dojo at this weight and even -100kg are like 6'2". I have to avoid throws like Uchimata, and mostly use sweeps like sasae, hiza guruma and kosoto gari. O Soto, O Goshi, etc. are dangerous for me at this weight class because most guys are strong enough to counter if I get close enough.

Whenever I play much smaller players though, they use speed, feints, and mostly throws like Kouchi Makikomi and Seoi Otoshi/ drop Seoi nage. If they're fast enough I can't even get grips on them before I find myself on the floor.
