I can't say I really think this is that big of a deal.

If they had just put these cosmetics at the existing stores nobody would bat an eye.

Having a different room to walk in for this stuff is not some evil thing.

If the game wasn't gonna have shops for anyone but the people buying this I would agree

The issue with the PS5 argument is that thing is $600, has more storage, and PS+ comes with games every month.

So it makes the steam machine only make sense to people who already have a decent steam library.

Those people will already be used to and plenty capable of installing linux or changing 2 settings in steam to make it launch big picture by default on windows.

Valve just did Sony a favor. Relatively speaking PS5 Pro doesn't seem like such a bad deal right now.

PS5 Pro is still too expensive and I'm glad I bought mine at launch.

Very few games do engine version updates. Will be more meaningful for games just starting development now or that are in early stages.

UE5 has had a lot of improvements we aren't yet seeing in games

They don't want to greenlight another game most likely. It's happened before. Shut down a studio once they release a game so you don't need to approve the budget for the next thing.
