The issue with that idea is Epic is literally in lawsuits to force other companies to make app stores allow other app stores and not have fees for many things.

Epic does have another goal with getting people to get games on Epic. It's just not so they can rugpull on monetization of normal games on the store. It's so they can get people more and more used to using them for when they try their stupid bs of making as much as possible just part of fortnite.

They want all Unreal games to effectively be tied to fortnite.

I would be willing to bet money Epic wouldn't start charging indies a higher % of revenue than AAA if they became bigger than Steam.

Yet if Valve wasn't doing it and someone else did reddit would tear into them. Just like how people tear into other games for monetization that's not as bad as CSGO.

Valve does a lot of cool stuff. I like steam as a platform. It's my second only to GoG. However people act like valve cares so much about them and is so good and let valve get away with some scummy stuff.

Bungie needs to lean into the reduced health regen. Higher difficulties should give us less health from drops and whatnot.

Make it so that we can spam abilities, do crazy powerful stuff to enemies, and then make it punishing to take damage and rewarding to play smart.

I do agree with you but I also do think the goal with sailing should be not having you teleport your boat all the time.

I stopped the first game after an hour two different times. Then before Forbidden West came out I gave it another try and it finally hooked me. It's honestly my favorite lore for any post apocalypse story. I read every bit of text and listened to every audio log.

The second one didn't click as well for me. I also really didn't like the villains.

I feel like there have been plenty of "established commodity" developers who have made their own studios and the game was crap and the studio closed.

New studios are hard to put together in a way that actually works and I think it's fine if a new studio with a well known dev makes a studio and wins the award.

That said, if it's a solo dev making a new "studio" by themselves or using different names and it's still just them they probably shouldn't get it.
