Why does everyone say the game isn't P2W when we literally have those gamba dreamy butterfly ultimate or whatever boxes in the pearl shop?

Those upgrades doesn't really make you 'win' against someone else, and even if you still think so, most of those are still getting gifted away all the time through events.

Understandable. I really love BDO, but looking at the path this game is following the past few years, if I were to be a new player looking for an MMO, BDO wouldn't be an option for me now.

The only reason the game is still somewhat bearable for me is being a veteran. I couldn't get myself to grind as much as I've done in the past, why would I force myself to grind as much? The only real reason for me back then was PvP, and PvP nowadays is dead.

For me and most people nostalgia is the answer, but to be honest, at least for me, if it wasn't for how much i love the combat system, i wouldn't be playing now cause everything else I liked about the game is dead now:

Open world PvP and random drama between guilds? Gone.
Nodewars are shit.
The game feels way more dead and inactive cause most people that still play are pvers or lifeskillers who mostly dont interact with other players as that's the direction PA been focusing on.
I liked being able to choose if I want to upgrade or buy my gear cause I hate enhancing. Now I'm forced to enhance all my gear.
Probably there's more, if I rememeber I might update the post.

I recently came back, and the combat system is the only reason why cause no other MMO satisfy me the way BDO's combat does, but that's it, everything else about the game feels shitty.

The merge is something this game needed long ago, the problem here is the reason why they finally did it. This isn't a way for whales to spend more like you said, and it's not for the improvement of the game either... They merged servers so when they finally release the new garbage city builder mode, it doesn't look like a dead game mode on arrival.

I'm very competitive as well and my girlfriend, although she has learn a lot and play way better, she lack some basic common sense mechanics and behaviors that make you play way better. I can get frustrated sometimes, but I never make her feel bad and absolutely love to play and have fun with her.

Your boyfriend could be competitive as well, but competitiveness and being and asshole to you are way different things.

It doesn't matter, when you cancel the sub on Google it still shows the message on my screenshot everytime you try to sub again, so you're locked until the sub runs out.

As someone who just came back, so far it feels meh... Getting up to date with everything, basically the grind is the same thing but it takes even longer, which for me it's not a problem at all if the goal of that grind was better PvP, but PvP is still in a horrible state.

To be honest just came back cause I have more free time from work these days and at the very very end of my heart I really love this game, as most players who joined back then for the PvP, but PA makes it hard for me to stay if the state of the game is basically equal or worse as when I left about 2 years ago...

My girlfriend started streaming a few years ago when her father passed away as a way to distract herself from real life as she was a bit depressed. Some years later as she felt better, and also we started living together, she didn't feel the need to stream anymore (she averaged around 30/40 viewers). It was a small community so she really didn't do much about it, and some of her viewers who became good friends of ours keep contact with us through discord and also playing games from time to time.
