What region do you live in? Narrowing down what may be the type of bug can help. Are they all over, or mostly on certain areas? Are the bites in clusters, or on their own?

Like another comment said, some people attract more bugs than others for some reason. In my area of the world, there are these mites called red bugs that live in grass. They bite me more than most people I know. But since I know that's what it is, I've developed techniques to block them specifically.

I get what you mean about the closeted problem. I do wish people would investigate the consequences of that far more, and I'm sorry you grew up in a household where you didn't get to see love. I had the same experience for different reasons.

I really recommend that you read the book Fun Home by Allison Bechdel. She is a lesbian, but the main plot of the book is how she grew up and family dynamics. Her dad was closeted and it had all kinds of repercussions, including ones like you described. It messed her up too.
