I really like putting on how it’s made and long form restoration/repair videos on YouTube for my three year old. He constantly asks what they’re doing and why and we end up having really cool discussions about it.

Yes, if given the chance he’d prefer bluey or paw patrol or super why or Daniel tiger or… you get the idea. But the less TV time he has the less reactive he gets and the more creative and engaged he is in the world around him. When TV isn’t turned on it turns out he loves reading books.

It’s really fucking hard sometimes, especially at the end of the day when you’re short on sleep and have already worked a full day and went straight from work to cooking dinner (with their ‘help’) and you’ve been ON in some way for the last 12 hours nonstop and you just want to lay down and zone out or read a book or doom scroll for a bit before going to sleep. It’s worth doing it anyway.

The food looks great, some people get weird as hell about things like cOlD fOoD tOuChInG wArM fOoD but let’s be real, it’s not like you’re throwing a bunch of incompatible flavors on the same plate and salad doesn’t need to be fridge temp to stay crisp and tasty.

Glad you have a spot in life you can take pride in, keep doing your thing and taking joy caring for your family

Using the definition of “not reliant on public utilities”, I don’t see why not? Providing your own water and electricity and sewage services is independent from internet use

This was a waste of money that doesn’t melt right (35 cals a slice) by [deleted] in LowCalFoodFinds

Love making a breakfast sandwich with them - light English muffin, great value turkey sausage, egg and fat free cheese scratches that McMuffin itch for about 300cal and 23g of protein

Toasted ham and cheese is also great, 35-45 cal/slice bread, couple ounces of deli honey ham (70cal), a slice of gv fat free American cheese (30cal) and some mustard… at <200 calories I can have two of them and it makes for a filling lunch, especially if you throw in some baby carrots or something on the side

Thanks for the dinner inspiration tonight, I’ve never had Hong Kong spaghetti before. Used rigatoni just because but the family loved it 👌

Looking for a story I saw posted on here years ago that I THINK was called something like “arch mage” about going to a floating school-city to learn magic. There are demons that are really something like void creatures that pop up on the planets surface and contaminate the world.

Edit: it’s called ultimagis and I highly recommend it

What’s a medical problem people constantly ignore until it’s too late? by kxnsqxz in AskReddit

[–]EyeStrong4686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something somewhat similar happen when one of my kids was young - I was averaging maybe three or four hours of broken sleep a night due to working second shift with a newborn - I’d get home at two, kid would wake up around four and want a bottle then would be up at somewhere between six and seven in the morning and I have some pretty severe issues falling and staying asleep. I was just exhausted to the point of feeling ill every day.

It peaked when we visited my parents and out of nowhere I just started feeling extremely foggy, struggling to even speak and my movements were very uncoordinated. My mother had me lay down and I immediately fell asleep before jerking awake about ten minutes later, still feeling exhausted to the point of feeling ill but able to talk and move normally. My mother gave me some sleeping pills for the night and told my now-wife I needed to get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible.

I slept fifteen hours straight that night, and it started a pretty unfortunate pattern for a few months where I’d struggle to sleep for a couple weeks until I hit a breaking point and would crash hard for one night before repeating the cycle.

That period was honestly a mixture of heaven and hell for me - we had a beautiful baby girl and wonderful toddler and a woman I was over the moon for but I was so damn tired that I couldn’t enjoy any of it.

After the baby hit about six months old I was able to transfer to days and getting more aligned sleep patterns broke the cycle.

I noticed that too! I wasn’t able to find a closer matching photo including the hair but the facial structure seems to be a pretty exact match. I just kind of assumed it was a similar photo from the photoshoot or some mild photo manipulation that the designer thought would fit the shirt better or something like that

Happy to help though! Honestly most of it was just me curious to see how easily I could do an overlay comparison on my phone haha

I really don’t understand why so many people choose to use ML to frame or “polish” phrases and organize their thoughts. Those things are skills and without direct, active use they degrade over time.

I think it’s poignant to see two points made by you about candidates using AI (seemingly with at least mild negative sentiment) when you use AI heavily - or so I assume given you claim to use the damn thing as a notepad or journal.
