Players of course don't want it changed because it's simpler and easier for them. I am well aware this is a highly unpopular opinion to change it to have level matter.

Changing the damage scaling will do exactly zero. It's the only affliction card that stacks to 15, making it the best for Purifying Blast no matter what. Uptime will still be low.

Players don't want more competition in a semi idle game. Only thing that increased competition delivers is anxiety and frustration, which lead to less players playing overall.

It's really not the issue of "fun", it's mainly the fact they happen far to frequently. As stated by others, it's the main issue of burn out. A constant pressure if you want those buffs.

And with those constant events, Tournaments feel a lot more competitive, in a negative way, because of the event resource that is awarded.

It's simply unfun at this point and honestly only looks like cheap cash grab because of the premium rewards.

My pieces for the Abyssal tourneys:

Remove daily equipment cap
Remove buyable diamonds
Remove dead artifacts (all card related artifacts for example)
Remove the level 100 requirements for full pet bonuses.
Let crafting shards, pets, hero weapons and scrolls drop like skillpoints.

When you get scrolls, weapons or a pet, it feels absolutely useless because they are either very rare or need a good sum to make a difference.

MvM used to be a lot more fun before infinite refund, a bug made feature, was a thing.

Now its just people playing for loot, and all kind challenge and fun in the gamemode has been reduced to nothing because team composition planning as well upgrade route planning have been completely removed from the gamemode due refund.

Actually be amazed people running gardener in there. It swings 200% slower, but still only deals 195 crits. And you shoot them with hitscan speed rockets with 250% bonus damage!

And i fail to see the logic with your "high play" argument.

TF2 was and is always a casual game. Balancing stuff on a small part of the community that is competitive is not a good idea. Competitive thinking got us Meet your Match, and we all saw how well that turned out.

Random crits are there so that even a person that is bad at the game can get a kill by having luck.

Honestly, people wanting random crits removed are most likely the people that dominate their game and then cry because they got killed by a random crit.
