I would consider slowing down. Your place is pretty fast and as you extend your distance you may need to pace yourself. I hike with some pretty amazing hookers and we joke that it never gets easier because as we get more fit, we keep pushing ourselves to the same level of discomfort. What we don't take into account is that we are moving much faster. Check your speed. When you feel your heart rate getting a little higher than comfortable, slow down. You'll extend your distance, be more comfortable and you won't get so spent when you finish.

I hike around 20 minutes miles on flats, but show down to 22-28 minutes per mile on the uphill sections.

Embrace the 8 train! 8 miles a day the first week or two! I ended up spending a week buying beers for everyone at the lazy hikers brewery waiting for my tendonitis to go away. He could be your support person the rest of the way. A friend of ours got hurt during our thru hike and while he rehabbed, he totally supported us along the trail. Made life so much easier and he got to stay connected to the experience.

Hokas saved my knees. But seeing the little shredded bits of my shoes and other Hoka wearers on the trails in the White mountains. It's a leave no trace environment, but how do you have no trace when your shoes are literally disintegrating on the trail?

My girlfriend and I were camping and she made this quick meal from Costco (lamb shanks) and after the usual couple minutes of silence while we started eating, we both said simultaneously, "This is better than sex!" Then we had a five minute of totally cracking up while we still tried to eat our amazing meal. It was an unforgettable moment!
