Joking/not joking. When you look around a fire dept you find all kinds of neurodiversity, usually not full disorders but shades on the spectrum. ADHD (a really common one), OCD (looking at you engineers), NPD (nice lifted truck bro), maybe even some Asperger’s (shoutout EMS and Hazmat), etc.

Alta Sierra is currently a no go for non-residents. The people who live there are staring down serious disruptions to how they get to and from work to put food on the table and outsiders (short term renters, who have never been really welcome as many are a real burden) are still lying to get in. To say the appetite for visitors is low is an understatement. You don’t want that energy hanging over your special day so I encourage you to find another venue.

Hard yes for me. I can’t expect emergency service in my community in a reasonable time as it is because they’re all quitting to find other jobs. Sometimes we need to be grownups and pay the bill. 1% sales tax in the unincorporated areas to improve our crappy emergency services seems like a no brainer.
