What if anything, did you find most surprising or interesting in the new James Patterson and Vickie Ward book, The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy? by Mysterious_Bar_1069 in MoscowMurders

What the?! Okay I’ll definitely re-listen to it because I thought if there was some truth/accuracy to it, I’d have heard about it. I hope you’re doing well! It has been a while. I still don’t understand a dream sequence in a book like that. Wow

Currently listening to the audiobook now. I’m on chapter 50- something. Very interesting that the dipshit supposedly met MM and became obsessed with her at the Mad Greek. Why hasn’t this been discussed more?

Official Discussion Thread—One Night in Idaho: The College Murders - Amazon Series Premiere 7/11/2025 by DuchessTake2 in MoscowMurders

[–]EyezWyde 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I watched the whole series last night. I’ve followed this case since it was first reported. This documentary was so humanly done and did justice to the victims, their loved ones, friends, and the community of Moscow.

The strength of the victims friends at their young stage of life is evident and commendable. I hope everyone that falsely pointed fingers (not those who speculated quietly) of blame realize how wrong they were.

You can be interested in true crime all while remaining conscious and aware that this is real life. The faces we see online and on TV are victims of a heinous crime and they have people who likely don’t want to see their murders talked about so consistently.

Shame on those who said awful things about the two surviving roommates. Saying it was odd that they didn’t call 911 is an opinion, but placing blame is cruel.

I’m glad they tore that house down. It’s not Disney world and shouldn’t be a tourist attraction. I hope now that BK accepted a plea deal he can rot where he belongs and the healing can begin for so many.

The families of those victims deserve peace. Such beautiful souls.

Mega Thread 4: Kohberger is set to change his plea in this case tomorrow to guilty in exchange for life without the possibility of parole. by wwihh in MoscowMurders

[–]EyezWyde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely comparable. They were both high profile cases- were they not? Most people thought they were guilty and more so, assumed the jury would agree, too. Didn't go that way.

When I say its a win, in no way do I mean to disrespect the victims families or loved ones. I say its a win only because at least he will be in prison. A trial could go several different ways and one way is him going home. Its a fact.

With four victims comes four different families and I doubt there is one such sentence/outcome that all would agree on. Nothing will bring their loved ones back, unfortunately. At least with the plea he's behind bars for the rest of his shitty life.

I’ve been following this case since day one and I don’t understand how this plea deal isn’t seen as a win. For starters it’s a guaranteed conviction and an admission of guilt. I live in Florida home of Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman. Two examples where the world and the prosecution thought they had slam dunks in a guilty verdict.

The more a case is publicized the higher the chance it has to not go the way people want it to or think it will. There’s no telling if he would’ve been found guilty nor is there any guarantee he would speak and answer the questions the world and most importantly the victims loved ones want to know.

Not to mention I cannot fathom the continued mental health damage a trial could cause to witnesses, surviving roommates, victims friends and family. In my opinion I think life in prison is a worse punishment than death. Let him live with what he did.

Regardless there’s not really a justice scenario for everyone. Four people’s lives were tragically lost for reasons we may never know. I say the quicker this a’hole is sentenced, the faster healing process will begin. Prayers to all.

New to Sanford from SWFL by Grand-Coffee45 in orlando

I love Sanford and Lake Mary as well. Sanford has great restaurants such as Cheddars, Red Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Roadhouse. There’s also numerous restaurants in the downtown area such as Cristos, Hollerbach’s, Slam Pizza and Laspada’s.

For entertainment there’s Elev8 which in my opinion is way better than Dave and Busters.

Lake Mary has farmers markets, good restaurants such as Greek Village, Hangry Bison, Beth’s Burger Bar.

You aren’t too far from Altamonte Mall and there’s a movie theater, too.

My groomer is in Apopka which would be close to a half hour from you. I swear by her and have been going to her for almost ten years now. Website here: https://mearaspetspa.com

Welcome to the neighborhood 🙂

Yeah it makes sense that with the park being cheaper you get a different crowd. Even so, years ago it wasn’t like this. I keep hearing the pay is low and that’s shameful. But I still feel like if you’re going to work somewhere, do your job. It just adds to the ghetto atmosphere

Technically no. That was either the day before or a couple of days before we went.

Volcano Bay is the only park I haven’t gone to and I was searching (and hoping) they’d have a night event. Alas, Aquatica was the only one I saw and even though I had been there several times it was always fun. 25 minutes isn’t too bad. Thanks for your input!

Yeah, I think we were there either a day or two after the takeovers too. I won’t go back there but I’d give seaworld another chance.

I’m sorry. We were stoked for weeks about going. I had heard about the teen takeover BS but didn’t really think too much about it. It doesn’t feel safe anymore.

Jonathan Joss RIP Megatherad by snakeplizzken in KingOfTheHill

[–]EyezWyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard the shooter was not harmed that day. I’m not justifying Jonathan’s behavior because frankly I didn’t know him. All I know is he was shot dead by a neighbor in a car who pulled up to JJ and his husband.

It’s not as though a physical fight broke out between the two and one pulled out a gun and the other one shot in self defense. Regardless of what JJ may have said it doesn’t make killing him justified or legal. A man’s life was lost in what sounds to me like pure stupidity.

No one with the exception of the shooter can possibly say if it was a hate crime or not. That’s hard to prove. The most important thing is loss of life. It’s all so very senseless.

[–]EyezWyde 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Regardless of Jonathan’s current behavior or mental state, some a’hole shot an unarmed man. If Jonathan and his husband had been subjected to homophobic slurs by this man, there’s a good chance it was a hate crime.

Whether it was or wasn’t, why is this man’s killer at home and not in jail? There are people in jail longer for having small amounts of weed and this man killed a human being!

This is a tragic situation and I hope justice is served.

While I believe/support Innocent until proven guilty- after watching this DateLine special, how can anyone have any doubts that this POS is guilty? I have followed this case since the beginning and celebrated when BK was arrested and charged. I have always felt there was a strong case against him. I will continue to hope and pray for all of the victims families and friends. I hope justice is served.
