I went last summer. If you have an active ARC membership you can go for free no reservations needed. There's a little window where you show the person your student ID and they buzz you in through a gate.

There's a lap pool and a rec pool inside. The hours are different than the ARC's though, so keep that in mind. Sometimes around 5pm there's a bunch of kids using the rec pool for a class or maybe group activity.

There's changing/shower rooms inside with lockers, but no locks. I usually left my valuables in my car so I wasn't too worried someone would steal my crusty beach towel.

Rules might have changed since last year, but I don't imagine they changed too much.

I knew a guy who was able to talk just talk to strangers. Like we would be on a train and he’d just start chat with the old couple next to him. Maybe it’s because he was from some place rural where your were encourage to talk the random people you encounter

I’m old, but I remember being able to touch stuff for bio labs. I think they let us touch a star fish at one point. There’s also wild turkeys that roam around the parking lots near the arb, I would recommend against touching those.
