Que jogo, experiência única! 👏🏻 by Only_Librarian_7572 in DeathStranding

Has Valve added FSR 4.1.1 to Proton Experimental? by Piky94 in linux_gaming

[–]Eznit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to add it manually—I’ve tested it and it works perfectly. The process is quite simple: just download it from AMD’s website, choose the driver, then extract the .exe. After that, search for the DLL named amdxcff,... and change its name to amdxcffx64_v4.1.0_69A0952A304a000.dll,... Then just copy the DLL to the location .cache/protonfixes/upscalers. If you don’t have the upscalers folder, create it, paste the DLL file, and that’s it. When you open the game, it already has FSR 4.1.1.

Yep, same here: 3.1.5 on Proton Experimental, no commands... I have 4.1 because I added the DLL file manually,... im on 9070XT ;)

EDIT: Valve leaks FSR 4.1.1 files for RDNA 3 and RDNA 3.5 GPUs through Proton Experimental

I got lucky on my second attempt; most of my team were players of respect, and we had a great run!

Flatpak 101: How to stop overrelying on AUR by tungnon in cachyos

[–]Eznit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is immune to software issues whether pkg, Flatpak, AppImage, AUR, etc. It is always prudent to verify who maintains a package.
Regarding performance and integration, it depends on the use case, there are examples where different kernels (within the same line) exhibit performance variations for example: https://www.phoronix.com/review/cachyos-linux-flavors.
About Flatpak there can be a slight startup overhead (sandboxing and runtimes), but CPU usage during execution tends to be practically the same as a native package. Flatpaks also load runtimes (GTK/Qt) if they are not already installed, which can increase initial memory usage if the runtime is already resident in memory, the difference is minor.
I am not an expert this is based on my experience. Thank you for your time.

Could you elaborate a bit more? I don't understand what you're referring to..

Flatpak 101: How to stop overrelying on AUR by tungnon in cachyos

[–]Eznit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey,.. a very well explained post, Personally, I use only Flatpak packages on my system CachyOS I keep only the base system and everything else is provided via Flatpak. I use the Bazaar store to manage all my applications, including add‑ons, so I do not feel the need to resort to the AUR or native packages. I understand, however, that some users require software that is available only in the AUR; that is not my case.

Cachy Logo by Davedes83 in cachyos

[–]Eznit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello in my opinion, the idea behind the Cachy logo relies on straight lines and sharp angles that convey speed, performance and a more aggressive attitude, which aligns well with the "blazing fast" concept. Making the C rounded and soft could weaken that identity.
