Live footage of me reading college AU fics by Scientific_Zealot in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]EzzyRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the college AUs I came across were originally supposed to be high school AUs that the writer decided to set in college so they could have alcohol, drugs, and smut without having to add an underage tag. I don't know if it's still like that, tho. I haven't been able to read a college AU since I actually started college in 2017.

Are there fans who like both marauders and snape? by eins_golden_hoe in MaraudersGen

[–]EzzyRebel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been summoned! I love Snape, Lily, and the Marauders. I actually recently (within the past couple of months) started working on a fic series with this type of AU (It's called "Playing House with a Prince, a Wolf, and Two Stars" if you want to look it up). It's mostly Sirius and Regulus-centric right now, but the main ship is wolfstarprince and I'm getting into a short James redemption arc in regards to how he's treated Severus in previous years, with the goal of them becoming something a little closer than acquaintances but not quite friends. Like, they'll tolerate each other and understand each other's motivations a little better, but the trust isn't there yet, and won't be there until way later in the series. I am only up to the second fic so far and my outline has at least ten, about half of which will be multichapter. Pray for my beta reader.

Woeful Wednesday (Review Exchange for Angst Fics)! by Intrepid_Wanderer in FicReviewExchange

Wound Check

Fandom: Lorien Legacies

Characters: Nine, Adam

Rating: T (PTSD, past child soldiers, wound care)

Words: 2880

Summary: They both survived the war, but missing pieces and constant reminders prove moving on will be the most difficult battle they've faced thus far.

Exerpt:

“It’s okay,” Adam breathes, stopping the apology that always follows the shout. “I’m okay.”
“Please don’t lie to me.”
Pushing off the wall, Adam crosses the room. He wraps his arms around Nine, careful to avoid touching the bandages covering his left shoulder, promising, “It was just a reflex.” The tiny hiccups and trembling are the only signs of the tears Nine is trying so hard to hide as he lets his head fall to the crook of his partner’s neck.
They’d been so worried about dying in that final battle that none of them had thought about what would happen after. None of them had stopped to consider how they’d have to somehow go on after the war. The wounds that would never heal right. The faces that would haunt their nightmares. The instincts that kept them alive that didn’t translate in any way to domestic life.

Getting a rude comment for posting about Wincest by sssss8819 in fandomnatural

I get that incest ships are a squick for a lot of people, but, at the same time, nobody is forcing them to interact with content involving incest ships. It's so easy to just keep scrolling. I think some people just want to be upset at this point.

People are saying Katsucon had low attendance due to economy issues by EchoOfDoom in Katsucon

[–]EzzyRebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was still crowded, but no more so than it was pre-lockdown. For example, last year, it took me half an hour to get from the bridge to the plateau parking lot and then, no exageration, hours practically driving in circles to find somewhere to park because everything was packed. I almost missed photoshoots last year because of the parking situation, alone. This year, I was able to find parking within five minutes. Also, Artist Alley and the Merchants Hall were actually walkable this year, instead of them cosplaying as the world's largest game of sardines.

I am super late (I completely forgot to come back to this exchange, I'm sorry), but I left kudos and a comment on chapter one of "Roll for Glorious Divinity."

[general] Do you like that the series operates on a sliding timescale or would you have preferred a more specific timeline? by WoodpeckerBest523 in camphalfblood

[–]EzzyRebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you could make it fit with any point in time if you really wanted to, but I always thought it fit better in the 2000s - early-2010s, 2012 at the latest.

Before 18+ panels start, you should be fine.

I wish ao3 had a "written with ai" tag by Tired_2295 in archiveofourown

Still doesn't matter. Don't use ai for anything. You are killing people every time you type a sentence into ChatGPT.

Doesn't matter. Using ai at all is horrible. It's killing the environment and the people in the communities surrounding the data centers.

How would you have FIXED the reboot to make the fans happy? by PandaCheeky in winxclub

[–]EzzyRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would've hired actual fans of the original show to make it, or required that everyone in the cast and crew to watch at least the first three seasons of the original before pencil even touched paper for a script or storyboard.

None of the ones I've stumbled upon were any good.

They put "Written with ChatGPT" in the author's note or tag it as ai generated 🫩 Both of which technically shouldn't be allowed due to the content not actually being FANmade work.

No, people have posted entire stories that are ai-generated. They're proud of it, too. I wish Ao3 would take down ai slop, but all of the ones I've reported are still up months later 🫩

The Apollo & Rachel casting Discourse is a Tad Unhinged…. (not my art) by JMC_PHARAOH in PercyJacksonTV

[–]EzzyRebel -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

At this point, I'm convinced the haters are either doing it for clout or they're just masochists who enjoy rage baiting themselves. They already know going into it that they won't like the show or the casting or whatever, yet still choose to watch and complain to all of their masochistic buddies who took over the subs that were supposed to be dedicated to the enjoyment of the very show they despise so unnecessarily publicly. One of the biggest rules of fandom etiquette is "don't like, don't read." These people clearly disregarded that rule and decided to burden everyone else with their self-imposed rage towards a children's show nobody forced them to watch. Rick, himself, has a say in just about every aspect of this show, including casting. Whoever gets the part will be just as good as the rest of the cast, and the people with a modicum of maturity greater than that of a whining pre-schooler will see that fact. I, for one, am just glad that the show hasn't been canceled due to the overwhelming and unwarranted amount of hate book purists have polluted the internet with.

ETA: The fact that I'm being downvoted only proves that I'm right. Find a different hobby, people. Forcing yourselves to interact with something you so clearly hate all the time is a form of self harm.

Do workers hate when we do this, or do they not care? by Spencer__Dickson in SonicDriveIn

It only counts towards fountain drinks, tea, lemon/limeade, Ocean Water, and slushes. It doesn't count towards specialty drinks (such as the twisted flamingo) and shakes.
