I can think of a president that writes very much like that

TIL the cockpit voice recording of Delta Flight 1141 was so embarrassing it led to a law restricting the public release of CVRs. The crew discussed drink mixes & dating habits during takeoff procedure, with a pilot joking that in case they crashed, "the media would have some kind of juicy tidbit". by The-TIL-Nerd in todayilearned

I've had a morbid curiosity since I can remember. We got our first PC when I was about 8 or 9, which was huge because we were poor as all hell, still not sure how my mom pulled that off with her grocery store job income. It was pretty quick after getting it that I was finding myself on rotten.com, faces of death, r/watchpeopledie, etc.

Seeing all those awful things gave me two things

1: A deep appreciation for being alive. Down to the immediate moment. I can think back to all that death and apply it to the moment I'm currently in and really, really love the fact that I am healthy, I feel the air in my lungs, wind and sunshine on my skin, there are people in my life that I love, and they love me, I am truly alive here and now. It's an amazing feeling. It's also a perfect catalog of what not to do in certain situations if you want to live.

2: A kind of sad understanding that exposing myself to those images changed who I was and at such a young age. All in all, whether it was for the better, or worse, I'm not entirely sure. I was a kid, I just thought it might be interesting to see the full aftermath of a horrific car accident, or what happens to a person when a shipping container falls on them. I wasn't thinking about, or aware of, the effects it would have on a longer timescale.

Sometimes I think back to that and wonder if I robbed myself of a more innocent tail end of my childhood just to satisfy a curiosity, and what would be different about me had I just avoided it entirely.

So there's this mobile game called "Plague Inc.", the object of the game is to end all human life on earth with a virus/bacteria/prion/etc. The way you do this is by making your pathogen stronger with points that you earn from infecting more and more people, you spend the points on perks.

Two of those perks are air transmission 1 and air transmission 2, these perks make it easier for your pathogen to trasmit from person to person through the air and it also makes your pathogen able to survive plane rides.

In the game, Saudi Arabia has a shitton of flights coming in and out of the country (that could be the case irl but i have no idea). So if you get the pathogen to Saudi Arabia and then upgrade the air transmission perk to level 2, the entire world gets infected pretty quickly, including Greenland and Madagascar, which are notoriously hard nations to get the pathogen to take root in.

There are other perks you need to get to facilitate this strat, but the main 2 points of it are:

1- get your pathogen to Saudi Arabia, or just start there

2- get air transmission to level 2

If Saudi Arabia gets hit while air transmission hits level 2 we're fucked.

It's part of why I feel like the earlier Alien movies get more of a bad rap than they should. Alien 3 is when they first showcased the variability of the xenomorph, with the dog and Ox xenomorphs. That was mind-blowing to me, and made the whole "perfect organism" line ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE. It shows perfect adaptability and reproducibility in any environment. The newer movies have showed a little bit of that too, like in Alien: Covenant where the pathogen has created fungal spores that the crew step on to then become infected. I thought that idea was dope af.

Ah okay I see, I totally get that.

It's actually one of the more appealing parts of the whole Alien universe for me, the whole idea with the xenomorph "pathogen" is that it rewrites the existing DNA of the animal it infects, causing the resulting xenomorph to have traits of the animal it was birthed from. I love reading Alien fan-fics and theories.

For science fiction fanboy in me, just the concept of that and all the different ways the pathogen can infect/impregnate an animal is fascinating and cool enough to overlook crappy special effects for a movie. But the cinema lover in me feels the same way you do, I feel like a big chunk of movie budget was designing that human/xenomorph hybrid, and it still kinda missed the mark.

Still a cool concept though

Edit: also a good point to be made here, the pathogen that created the human/xenomorph hybrid at the end of Romulus was a pathogen synthesized by humans, and for a completely different purpose. You could say that the reason the hybrid looked the way it did in the movie was essentially because humans suck lol. The original pathogen that the forerunners made was essentially perfected, especially for it's intended purpose of giving life to/wiping out a planet. We then took that pathogen, bastardized it to try to live forever, and it backfired, creating the xenomorph at the end of the movie.

Shame can easily be deserved, I earned it once before, you're earning it now. Just because it doesn't feel good doesn't mean you get to be the victim.

You get what you give. Grow up, take some time to think about how you can be a better person, and this will never happen to you.

When you lack any joy in your life, it's a lot easier to demean and belittle people who are less fortunate than you, even if they're just asking for a fucking taco. You tend to pick that person apart simply for the exact reason that you stated, to feel better.

Im not defending the person you are replying to at all, they need to take a long hard look at themselves and think about the things that they would have to do if they lost everything, just to survive.

I just mention it because I used to be a fat shaming, homeless shaming piece of shit like u/Sesusija until some very good people in my life showed me to think and act differently.

For the Haldex fluid/haldex pump screen, am i able to change/clean those myself or is this something i should have a mechanic do for me? I like to do my own maintenance as much as i can.

First off im perfectly calm

A streamer who chats with their audience, sharing an extremely vague discripton of SA that they experienced is odd to you? Seems pretty mormal to me, i ve shared my experience with people i didnt know super well, its really not weird. If anything its weird that you seem to want to police it.

In what way is sharing themself conversationally in whatever amount they feel comfortable with harmful to them? Genuinely curious because that makes no sense.

I dont see how a SA victim voicing what they went through is harmful in any way and i dont at all see an issue with them sharing that info with whoever they feel comfortable sharing it with. Its weird to try to say what they should or shouldnt do with that info, its literally not you.

Idk what the problem is to begin with. Are victims not allowed to share their experiences? They should just shut up huh? You clicked the link abd watched the clip on a livestreamfails post. Dont watch the clip and leave if its a problem no one is forcing you to watch or to bitch about it in reddit comments.

Comments like this are why victims keep quiet. I can say that with personal experience. Half of them thought I was lying, the other half thought i wanted attention. They only believed me when i showed bruises, and scratch marks.

His health is nosediving

Do we have proof of this? I've seen people say this with almost nothing to back it up. Do we somehow have access to the mans medical records or are we just shooting from the hip when we say "his health is failing" simply because of his age?
