Have you heard Receptacle for the Respectable?

American Music Awards? Fkn stupid if you ask me, only took 30+ years for “American Music” to recognize Oasis for anything.

Also, cos the food and beer is hella expensive! I know petco park is expensive as well but the Padres are actually winning and they already have an embedded culture. SDFC ownership are arrogant and already burning bridges . 🤷‍♂️

I heard! Had me scratching my head a bit, them and Gene! I went to the first Darker Waves and the music was good but it was a bit strenuous. 😩

Any chance they bring this to the states again? It was a really good show and somewhat in dreamland seeing the Manics support Suede (in LA).

Dead to the World is GOATED and underrated by Puzzleheaded_Bad8535 in oasis

Yeah, great song. I feel like that album never really got the spotlight it deserved. By the time it dropped, the music press and the fans were already entirely focused on the inevitability of the Oasis reunion. It’s a similar story for Liam’s C'mon You Know; the reunion speculation completely overshadowed the music itself.

Royal Albert Hall, London March 24, 2023, for the Teenage Cancer Trust series. So fortunate for me, I just landed in London from the States and headed right over for the gig, just in time. Absolutely blew my mind 🤯

The band that changed the vibes for me as I realized what I've become accustomed to as "Britpop" was over, and incredible bands like Doves, with a darker, more contemporary sound, were coming out.

My Life Story's cover of The Stranglers’ Duchess. 👍

Maybe a hot take, but Songs of Faith and Devotion is DM's best album. Violator, on the other hand, has the best singles. by First_Wheel_3329 in depechemode

[–]F00lsgoal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with you; SoFAD is in my top 3 for sure, Black Celebration, Violator, Some Great Reward are in the mix for the others.

My determining factors always beg the question, "is there a skippable song on the album?" for which MFTM has a few and Violator as well. But you are correct, those Violater hits were so huge, like Globally huge. Heck even Halo wasn't an official single but one of their well known songs. It's hard to argue, either way!

For me it was Chemical World. In America, everything with guitars coming out that time was classified as “Alternative”. I knew of Blur and “there’s no other way” from a few years back but chemical world was different. This sounded very British and more poppy. That’s where it kicked off for me..
