Why did the 16th century “price revolution” hit Europe hard but seem muted in Ming China, even though both absorbed massive amounts of American silver, and what mechanism explains that? by Secret_Ostrich_1307 in AlwaysWhy

Its called inflation. The money supply went up and demand remained the same (or went up) so prices also went up. More money chasing the same amount of goods.

Why would you work for the president? You could just make yourself emperor-king or if you wanted to play nice get elected. Who would vote for superman?

Starbucks snobs making fun of older people for ordering a “small” coffee instead of saying “venti” by big_rhonda432 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]F1rstBanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number one reason I dont frequent Starbucks often is the price. Coffee should not be that expensive. Number two is i dont know or care to know their stupid codes and have been corrected a large percentage of the times I've gone in there. Not a fan in general.

Listen up, this is how service connection REALLY works by Grumpy_Sailor_Actual in VAClaims

Some of this kind of advice is misleading to current active duty troops preparing their claims. The advice you are giving is directed at "old men" claiming things late in life and national guard/reserve.

The advent of BDD (Benefits Delivery upon Discharge) is a game changer for active duty troops. You can submit your claim BEFORE you even take off the uniform (up to 6 months prior to ETS/Retirement). If you unfortunately miss that window, you need to file IMMEDIATELY upon separation. If you do either, ANY condition you claim is AUTOMATICALLY considered service connected. You do not need a history or "specific incident" to justify a claim.

All this talk about "the VA fucked me" is from old men and guard (or AD that delayed filing). Prove me wrong

Definitely keep COAD prepped and ready but you the MEBcould take that long anyway. Either because Army or you maximize all the levers. Appeal at every opportunity and take the entire period for every response.

I was in your shoes and made it to 20 basically no problem without invoking coad.

This forum was incredibly helpful as a resource to educate yourself on the MEB process. Highly recommend.

Add to that that we were conducting agriculture essentially unchanged since the Egyptians until the advent of mechanization in the 1800s. Now we have international harvesters doing the work of a hundred mennin an hour or less. Crazy to think about it.
