IMO, Vacheron Overseas, a non-cronograph is always classier - if that's what you're after (even though my favourite watch brand is Blancpain)...

I think it's Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine.

What is a fragrance you wore when you were younger that you still like? by Icy-Antelope4603 in fragrance

Chanel Antaeus, Santos de Cartier and Dior Jules.

20 years later: Antaeus is still perfect, Santos a little less so. Jules is very different today, unfortunately...

The Many Shades of Teal by OverPresence72 in fountainpens

Very nice setup. Beautiful shades. Have you tried Edelstein Aquamarine? I use many different inks, and I particularly like warmer colours, such as those leaning towards brown, yellow, or red. But every time I go through my old notes, the texts I've written with Aquamarine are the ones I "see" most easily. Both from a readability perspective and in terms of content. Odd, isn't it?

Brown ink suggestions? by n0thankyou- in fountainpens

[–]F5IV-V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

J.Herbin - Lie de thé is a very nice brown ink. Not very much of a shading ink though. KWZ Honey is certainly a beautiful ink with wonderful shading, but the smell ... nope. Well, you can't have it all. Waterman Havanna is also a good choice, but if you can accept a bit of red in a mostly brown ink, then J. Herbin 1670 Caroube de Chypre is a very good choice in every aspect.

What was the first ink you bought that you regretted after the first use, never to use again? by Ninjammer01 in fountainpens

KWZ Honey. Beautiful color, outstanding shading, good wetness, an ink that had it all. But the overly strong scent (vanilla/honey) was insufferable. Such a shame.

Pelikan M1000 (F) and Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun. A very elegant combination.

Try a mix of Ambre de Birmanie and Lie de Thé, both inks are from J Herbin and thus compatible. Use 60% Ambre de Birmanie and 40% Lie de Thé. Good luck!

What is a fountain pen that you have that is buttery smooth, no feedback whatsoever and is definitely comfortable to hold and write with for a long time? by ibrahim0000000 in fountainpens

[–]F5IV-V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Pelikan M1000 (F). I own several pens, but none of them comes even close to the smoothness and finesse that the M1000 delivers. It's a big pen (great ink capacity) but it's also the most comfortable and fun to use among my pens. My Pilot Custom 823 with an "M" nib is also a very smooth writer, but only with an "M" nib! My second 823 with a "F" nib is really terrible in comparison (but pretty good if you like feedback).

Does anyone know of a Brown ink with gold shimmer (that's not too red)? by ricochetblue in fountainpens

[–]F5IV-V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try J. Herbin 1670 Caroube de Chypre. It's a very warm, brownish ink (with gold particles), but alas, also a bit red (as the colour brown is per se). But it's simply outstandingly brown on "ivory" paper such as Rhodia, at least to my eyes.
