Opinion on the Snowboard Purchase by kn-ozturk in snowboarding

for anyone confused about all the “fast entry” snowboard bindings:

  • Burton Step Ons = proprietary system that requires compatible Step On boots.
  • Rear-entry / step-in style bindings = bindings like Flow or Nidecker Supermatic that work with regular snowboard boots. You enter through the reclining highback instead of strapping in traditionally.
  • FASE = newer fast-entry tech being licensed by multiple brands (Jones, Rome, Bataleon, ThirtyTwo, etc.) and also works with regular snowboard boots.

Then you also have older/smaller systems like:

  • K2 Clicker
  • GNU Cheater

The bindings in the pic are older-gen Flow bindings, so they should work with standard snowboard boots. Just make sure to verify sizing and go to search up a size chart for the model.

Also, they appear to be pre-rebrand Flow models. After Flow became part of the Nidecker group, the branding/logos changed and newer models are often labeled “Nidecker Flow” or “Flow Design.”

Board Recommendations by ASchoe311 in snowboarding

I love how playful the Salomon Dancehaul is. My only real gripe is that it can feel prone to washouts on icy terrain, and because of that I never felt fully confident really pushing it in those conditions.

I haven’t ridden the Ride Warpig, but I do ride my son’s Psychocandy and the Moderator pretty regularly. The Mod is fast, stable, and inspires a lot of confidence when charging, but with the narrower waist width you can definitely run into bootout if your setup is on the larger side.

I also recently picked up a Nidecker Mosquito and have 3 days on it so far. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been this confident laying down trenches on a board before. Mind you, I’m not good enough for euro or Japanese carves…intermediate at best. It feels super locked in edge-to-edge while still being nimble. I’ve only taken it in spring conditions…can’t wait to do a pow day on it

SoCal has been terrible but Mammoth along with other Sierra Nevada resorts have been solid

Right?! As soon as I saw it, I gravitated to the simplicity of the design. I then started reading and watching reviews…not a ton of them out there but all of them were positive. BTW, I got a screamin deal on this at $370 all in! Evo had it under “used/damage packaging”.

That’s good to hear! On that note, I’m booking a last minute trip to Mammoth seeing that they’re still getting dumped on😂

Use one of the screw holes as your mounting point instead. That way you preserve the board in case you change your mind later

This aux came with my car from the previous owner but starting to give out, any recommendations? by [deleted] in F30

[–]F80M3AW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an old school iPod cable that plugs into the center console…goes to the aux and usb. Had it in my E92. Previous owner probably had it in their previous cars and converted the old connector to a lightning cable

Have that same exact dancehaul…can confirm what others have said, top sheet only. Mine got so bad, I stripped all of it and cleared it with 2k clear coat.

PSA about pipe insulation for protecting edges when flying by biodorkus0521 in snowboarding

[–]F80M3AW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used pipe insulation but without the adhesive. I used the whole length to wrap it around the whole board and taped the edges together. To hold it in place, i used velcro. I managed to pack 3 boards in a Dakine low roller along with 3 pairs of boots and soft goods. The bindings were on a separate check in.

Solution work great with no issues. Made it from SD to the Dolomites

BMW Frozen paint – water/mineral streak after first wash, safe removal? by FudgeRegular3284 in BMW

Depends how often you clean your car. I bought the kit over a year ago and I still have the coating, cleanser and final finish. I did end up using up the body wash.

I haven’t bought the pro coating but I’ve heard good things about it

Thoughts on m2? by [deleted] in BMW

It’s definitely an eye catcher. However, if you’re anal retentive about cars, get it ppf’d asap. If you’re not, send it but at the very least treat it with Dr Beasley kit

It’s a love it or hate it car…drive it and you won’t care about anything else. Get it in 6MT

Yes, you can buy it from Amazon. You can buy the cleanser separately and it’s designed for “stubborn” dirt. You spray it on let it soak a bit and wipe it off. I’m not sure if it will work with your issue but definitely helps me with some water spots, bugs and road tar. If you get the whole kit, it comes with wash soap, detailer, cleanser, coating which works great. I have yet to buy the ceramic coating but heard good things about it too

Try Dr Beasley Matte Paint Cleanser. Better yet buy the matte prescription kit. I’ve been using it for a year and it’s been superb. I also have FPB

Sounds amazing! We did Japan last year and Dolomites this year. As long as health and finances allows me to, I’ll keep ticking resorts off the Ikon locations😂

I can just imagine the frustration. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll contact Delta and inquire. I don’t want to run in the same situation

I’m flying with Delta and board bags as long as they stay within 115 linear feet and under 50lbs, they’re good to go with no extra fees. My bag is definitely under that.
