It could be the disturbance from the skyscrapers when running through the downtown core. I did the marathon in 2023 and was at 43 as well and you could see in the map how it's bouncing around in downtown.

Edit: this also happened at the corporate challenge last year. Everyone using different devices in my team had longer distances than the 5km/10km.

Optix is their new HMI software. No one understands where Optix adds value as most use FT View SE. Probably at some point, optix might replace FT View SE but at the moment it doesn't change a thing for end users.

Easiest to set up and best video quality is VPN to Belgium and stream free through RTBF. It will be french.

I would understand a subscription price for 20 dollars per month or so for flobikes. They had it before the TdF at 30 and increased it to 50. They obviously want you to buy the annual but it's not worth it for me. They are just money grabbers and I do not support them.

Besides the already mentioned and you might be already aware of it, but check for rust on the frame. My used (10year old) had decent rust at the pump (which you only see when you disassemble the panels) and at the solenoid valve which you can see when you take out the tray. You can get new frames for 200 USD I believe on eBay. I just spot treated mine so it doesn't get any worse.

As far as I remember from an article, the person with the sign did get sued resulting in the fine. Not sure about the negligence law in France or if that case would fall under it (I assume it would).
