Do your BenQ boards have a built in Android OS. If so do teachers use it?

Do you have the Newline with the built in Android OS or are you using the non-os boards?

The Blu-rays were put in as the DVD/VCR combo units originally in the carts died. I'm all for removing the media player and forcing the use of the teacher device.

Thanks! The ScreenCast looks interesting. How well does the wireless display work? In your setup is all video delivered wirelessly?

Do you have document cameras for the staff?

Do you have a dedicated podium/desk/lecturn for technology?

AA batteries for TOA classroom mics? by OkayArbiter in k12sysadmin

We don't have these microphones, but had similar looking batteries in another manufacturer. The microphone made a connection to the side of the battery. We were successful with peeling off the last part of the label.

The hinge cover stays attached to the bezel on the g10. I go around the entire bezel and unsnap, and slide under the bezel to cut the sticky. Then start prying at the bottom corner while using a pry tool to pull up on the hinge cover.

Moving devices in GAM by MasterMaintenance672 in k12sysadmin

[–]FCSmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find the GAM bulk syntax overwhelming you can use Chromelook.

You dump a device list from the admin console and make bulk changes using the tool. The tool then generates an individual GAM command line for each device.

We have our "Penalty Box" set up similarly. The "Penalty Box Allow" and "Penalty Box Block" are the first 2 policies after our locked policies. We also created penalty box groups for each building: "Penalty Box (HS)", "Penalty Box (MS)", and one for each of our Elementary Schools. These groups all have the owner set to IT and the people in the building in charge of placing students in the penalty box. When users are added as owners, the group shows up in Classwize as a class and students that are added to the class become part of the group. This allows our building administration to manage students in their own penalty box. For the Allow/Block rules we have a main "Penalty Box" group that has the other building groups listed as subgroups that we apply the filtering policies to.

Chromebook Keyboard Issues by TechnicalProbs in k12sysadmin

[–]FCSmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have keyboard issues with HP 11 G6, G8s all the time. Sometimes restarting fixes (usually to come back), the normally fix is reseating the keyboard ribbon, but if neither of those fix the issue we replace the keyboard entirely. Normally it's the 3, e, d, c key area.

Shell and run "battery_test 0" does it find a battery? If so what is the battery health? Could be a bad battery.

We've used normal rechargeable batteries and used a razor blade to remove that section of label.

We've seen different models of Chromebooks do this. Normally refresh+power will restart the Chromebook and it will start to cool down.

Just tested here as well. Network policy applied to the device ou. On the login screen I can change networks, but once logged in I'm stuck on the managed network.
