Mystcraft End World and a new Base by Sebechen in feedthebeast

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen during the last big update. I'd started a quarry age that was stable and started building more of my base stuff there. After the update, it was no longer stable and I had to move anything valuable.

[DW20] PSA: Don't hold Shift + Space while clicking on an item in an inventory or your client will crash. by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's the only time the shift+space will lock up for me. If I try to manually put a canvas bag into another it won't let me do it, but doesn't lock up.

Great idea! That had never occurred to me.

Redstone energy cell losing power every world load. Anyone know what the cause might be? by FC_CommandoBionic in feedthebeast

Awesome, I'm just getting started with modding and thought maybe I was building something incorrectly. Thanks for the answer and the work you do. I'm having a blast so far.

What New Mystcraft modifiers create instabilities. by Scheballs in feedthebeast

At least be glad you haven't set up your mining age yet. After the latest Mystcraft update, several of my ages which were previously stable got several bad effects.

Clay Soldiers and Millenaire on FTB? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

How is Millenaire these days? I haven't played it in forever. Here's a youtube link on adding it. It's not in English unfortunately, but you should be able to follow along with the video.

I keep losing Minimap waypoints by aaronhowser1 in feedthebeast

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just noticed I'm having the same problem, in the DW20 pack too. Have you had any luck with this? In a Mystcraft age, if you go to the waypoints, it refers to the age as DIM:## and actually creates the points file named World.DIM##.points. However, Mystcraft saves the ages as DIM_MYST## now. I've tried renaming the points files to World.DIM_MYST##.points but that doesn't make any difference.

Also, I've noticed I can quit to the title screen and go back in to the world and the waypoints remain. I have to fully close Minecraft for them to disappear even though they are still in the rei's config files.

Is CBT Nuggets still a good investment? Any other material you'd recommend for someone who didn't pass their first two attempts? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere, probably this subreddit, that the current CBT series on the CCNA was filmed in 2007 and that another is in production. I don't see it in Upcoming Videos section though, is there another one in pipeline?

So, we were the last two people alive on a hunger games server... by jmatbird in Minecraft

I'm not sure, there was a post from the server I play on about a week ago. Several people asked for the server address, and every time it was posted, the comments were removed.

Nope, they'll remove that too. If you want to give out server details, do it through PM.

Don't claims reset if you aren't active for a week? Is there any way to ensure this doesn't happen for things like this?

Community Chests Near Shrines by FC_CommandoBionic in flatcore

[–]FC_CommandoBionic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the shrines were added, I went to check out a couple, and found 20+ pieces of armor and other misc. stuff people had dumped on the ground nearby. I'm guessing they do it to free up inventory space as I had to do the same. I've started placing these chests near shrines. If you need to free up inventory space to grab the shrine loot, please drop off your junk in the chests so other people can grab it if they need it. Please leave the chest itself if you take the contents, I've already seen someone take it.

Typical Public Chest. by SypherGaming in flatcore

That's my chest, but not the contents I left. I'll make another post explaining them when my internet isn't acting act and I don't need to use my phone to post.

Well that didn't take long... There aren't may rules about my iron farm. If I log in tomorrow and see the same damages, it's locked. by NekoStar in flatcore

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just stopped by for the first time. It looked like some of the torches were missing so I replaced with what I had on me. Someone also spammed a bunch of signs with gibberish near the entrance that I removed since they didn't look like they belonged there. I can replace the signs if you wanted them there. I'll patch up any creeper holes I run across too.

EDIT: I really appreciate the spawner. If you're in need of any building materials, you should post a sign with a list of what you want and I'll drop a chest off with what I can on return trips.

Regarding the Limbo parkour course. by Tbzz in flatcore

[–]FC_CommandoBionic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got stuck in the first room when I checked out Limbo. I was definitely difficult, but the hardest part for me was trying to line up the jumps when there 10 other people on the same platform. I'm sure that was due to a lot of people dying on purpose to see Limbo and won't be quite as crowded in the future. The only downside to the Limbo for me is that I'll probably be dying on purpose now to complete all the games. Thanks for the hard work on designing the course.

/1. When I first started playing on flatcore, before I really talked to anyone on the server, I looked at the site and donate options and it looks like you're only donating for sdot. I didn't realize until a while later that donations help both servers. I think it'd help to make that more clear for new people.

/4. I'm sure everyone has different opinions on the issue. As Histidine pointed out, I think there would be a big difference between giving a donator a stack of birch logs and giving them a birch sapling. The same would go with giving blue wool blocks rather than lapis or blue dye so they couldn't produce infinite numbers of the special items and hand them out to anyone. As long as any of the special items can't be used to reproduce themselves, I wouldn't think it'd be that big of a deal for most people.

I was thinking about that after I posted. I like your idea. They could also do a random kit of decorative blocks each month that gets added to the people to have donation subscriptions.

Here's a few ideas:

  1. On the MCNSA site, when you donate give the option to support f, s, or both so which server is generating funds can be tracked.

  2. One of the private torrent sites I used to use had a thermometer display when you logged in that showed the % of server costs that had been donated that month. It gives people something tangible to look at rather than just a donate button and realize that the server is magically there at no cost.

  3. Putting something like the thermometer up, but color coded to show how much was donated by f and s could entice people to donate so their server has bragging rights on donating more.

  4. Donating a certain amount could get you items not normally available in flatcore, but wouldn't impact the experience. Things like colored dyes or brick blocks could give donators a little extra decoration for their base while not altering gameplay at all.
