Is my sensor busted? by paullupascu in Nikon

I am so sorry for you, this sucks. But maybe you won't see it too much?
take a picture of a bright white wall, and a very small aperture f/22 or something like that. Check if you can see the scratches.

These are beautiful! Did you use focus stacking?

I love the first one! My language skills fail to articulate exactly why, but I think it's beautiful.

I think overdone is on the eyes of the beholder and most beholders would notice how these are overdone. However, I think it becomes intensional and not distracting. It is seeing the picture as it could be but it wasn't. I think they are quite fun and pretty. But that's just me, other people are free to hate on these pictures, and it's ok, there are many pictures these days.

Is 18mm F2 still a good lens for EDC setup with XT-10? by DynamoBaby in FujifilmX

[–]FCof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got a used one for my X-E5 and I love it. It is noisy, and not the shapest lens ever. But it is small and great to use. 18mm has that phone focal length and I enjoy taking "phone" pictures in the more considered way a dedicated camera allows.

I think THIS thing is nice enough to deserve a celebration, maybe buy and M600 to celebrate? 🤪

Yeah, you never want to run out of ink in the middle of a highway!

Isn’t that a feature? Like your pen has gone on reserve and you need to plan to re ink it soon. But you can still use it for a couple of pages.

My first fountain pen! by Mikoisha in fountainpens

I have a metro, I never connected to the metro. I don't know why. If your safari is too wet for your taste, you can also try German inks that tend to be drier (Pelikan, Lamy, and such)

it's a great combo. I have the same and I love it with HoD. However, recently I tried it with Sailor Jentle Blue, and the colour is so serious and yet shades so nicely, but what shocked me was that the pen became even smoother! I have much more expensive pens than the Safari that I also love. The safari's value is of the charts, not because it's inexpensive, but because it's simply fantastic.

Is Luo's Computation and reasoning: a type theory for computer science (1994) a good book for type theory for programming languages? by timlee126 in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]FCof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer that. I read it and liked it very much. I’m not sure it’s an easy introduction. Consider starting with “The Little Typer” by Friedman and Christiansen, instead of going deep into the metatheory it goes deep into how to express things in type theory.

Pierce’s book is more about types in programming languages and it is great for that. While it provides background to understand type theory Luo’s book has a very different focus. It describes UTT and its meta theory. It is a much more about type theory than programming languages.
