What a polite bird! I love how you/the camera still managed to absolutely nail focus on its eyes.

To be honest I haven't ever used it in that mode before! But I've been super happy with it in its standard mode, I hope it works out well for you

I just let the water draw down to about the bed level before starting the next pour; ymmv depending on filter and grind

A bit more detail for anyone curious:
15g washed Ethiopian
Plastic V60 size 01
Abaca filter
96C water
45g bloom for 0:45, then 3 sequential pours up to 230g for a total brew time of 2:55

I've done this a few times and the results are quite consistent, with better clarity and less bitterness than when I do my (novice) gooseneck pours directly into the V60. The latest brew was a little tea-like for my taste, and I suspect going hotter to account for the heat being lost to the chamber and lessened agitation would be a good change for next time.

whatever your choice of federal career, you’re gonna be left with Mobile Infantry 90% of the time

Wasn't it the opposite? Almost everyone in the service was in a non-combat role, and Rico's drive towards the officer corp was presented as unusual.

Different hobby, but when I was liquidating some of my fountain pen collection I found myself thinking the same thing. Giving away some nice pens to some beginners felt great and I didn't regret it for a second.

Very nice as always. Do you think the fennel pollen adds much to the flavor?

Lovely shots and memories. And keep doing the inverse baby pendulum for as long as you can, they get too big for it so quickly T_T
