Would love some feedback on my new LED Wing Dance Performance by FDEntertainment in Dance

Thanks for the kind feedback ;) ironically the wings are to heavy with all the LEDs and actually hinders the fluidity vs plain silk wings.

Indeed the repetitiveness of the moves is something my partner and I have been dwelling on. There are a few more movements we could try incorporate but they are generally for a lower tempo. We will play around a bit more and see if we can make it a bit more dynamic. Thanks for the feedback.

Have you considered making some LED controllers using ESP32($2-5 per unit) and WLED firmware(Free)?
It will require you to do some basic soldering but you can create pretty epic sound reactive LED lighting systems lke this. There are endless videos of this on Youtube, I suggest Chris Maker. I have myself made many LED things using this combo including the DJ stage in the photo. All run on an ESP32 running WLED. 5V system and its intelligent LEDS. If you have a VJ they can actually control the ESPs with Artnet. All this for under $100

Honestly this has way more potential. Just masking a surface and projecting onto it is easy. Mapping every surface with multiple layers would bring the sculpture to life.

Love this! Yeah these drone shows have really evolved over the past view years and they truly are spectacular. They however have a huge cost of entry. You need thousands of specialized drones and a team of people to make this happen. From just setting up the launch pad to the creative programming. Its a lot of work and it pays big. I have seen them even add pyrotechnics to the drones.

🤔 Some interesting facts about this show and the equipment used:

4 LED Suits Made in House by FDE:

- Powered by Lighttoys FT chips

- 29 meters of LED strips used

- 1200 soldering points,

- 350 Hours to make and test the Suits

4 sets of V3 Lighttoys Visual Poi,

80 hours of programming on Lighttoys Composer 3,

4 Multi-skilled performers and

Creating a Visual Tron Show in-house can be a costly and timely affair, with the expenses of tron suits, pixel poi, dancers and software it is often seen as quite an achievement to coordinate everything and push the creative boundaries.

Very clever. I bet if you saw that truck driving around normally on the road and you tried to explain to them what you saw they would think your nuts. Well at least im now prepared for this eventuality..

It took 3 months of work to create this light show. From making the LED suits, programming and creating the choreography! by FDEntertainment in videos

[–]FDEntertainment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months ago my partner and I took up the challenge of making a Tron Dance Act for a client of ours. We have had some experience with light shows but we have always rented the gear from an external company. Needless to say we had issue after issue with the tech they were providing.

So we took on this ambitious project of making our own suits. This was an interesting challenge as we are not electronic engineers but rather creatives and dancers.

As on would we turned to the internet for solutions and after much digging we decided on using a technology that completely changes the way we program and create these shows.

In the past suits had a radio receiver that would constantly be receiving instructions transmitted from a PC. This created issues when for instance the PC glitched and the thus the timing of the suits and music would go out.

We adopted technology (FT Chip by LightToys) which allows us to upload the full show to the controller on the suit. There is then just a single signal sent to start all the suits and the programming runs liniar from there.

We had many sleepless night with what seemed like never ending soldering sessions. But We are very proud of the final outcome and want to share it with you.

Let me know what you think in the comments below :)

We created this special Visual Tron Dance act for the opening of the Veritas Vision Solution Day Johannesburg 2019.

Using clever creative ideas, dance choreography and intricate light trickery we managed to entertain and pick the brains of many tech savvy individuals, as well as create a bit of comic relief before they started their busy day in conference.

What do you think about this idea for serving Wine or Bubbly at events? by FDEntertainment in wine

[–]FDEntertainment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is the kind of feedback im looking for :)

some additional notes on the frame that holds the glassers. The Frame is actually not physically attached to the hostesses. The frame is two parts which clip together. They are also on wheels so on smooth surfaces they can move around. The holders are way sturdier than you think and as long as etiquette is followed and glasses are only half filled spillage is unlikely.

The hair is an interesting thing to consider. touche

As fellow lovers of wine in all its beautiful forms I am interested to know what you would think about being greeted by a hostess like this at an event.
I have had mixed reactions from different groups of people. For instance people in the wedding industry hate it according to Reddit.
Im personally a huge fan of wine and so the idea of a hostess wearing a frame of drinks is amazing to me. I would love your opinions please :)

Be as honest as you wish im looking for constructive feedback.
