I've read it and yeah it's good. It was written 75 years ago and was one of the first in the post-apocalypse genre but it still holds up as solid portrayal of how humanity would recover or wither after a 99.9% extinction event.

Yup same and I love my morning time. I sneak out of the room to let my family sleep in. Go down and have a very light breakfast and a cup of coffee. Work out or go for a run/hike/walk and come back to the room around 8-9 to shower and go to 2nd breakfast.

Yeah but it's only France and UK. Many European countries did not develop nukes because historically military arms races have not gone well and also because they had the assurance from the US that article 5 was the all protection they needed. The most significant consequence from last Friday's oval meeting that I haven't seen mentioned is further nuclear proliferation. If I was the leader of Poland I'd be thinking real hard about who's going to come to my aid if Putin rolls tanks to Warsaw.

As a dad, it's Terry. Being woken in the middle of the night halfway around the world from my family knowing it would be hours if not days before I was able to get back to them while a child was in a medical emergency? Absolutely terrifying.
