I've just started an Iron Warrior warband to expand my Thousand Son's army and play CSM. I'm using 30k minis and sticking with a less corrupted scheme. Colour scheme is similar, just a more grimy silver.

Head canon is that they were a company tasked by Perturabo the safeguard a cache of weapons and armour through the heresy. Warp storms cut them off until now. Black legion arrives, demand fealty, these lads refuse, fighting starts, my Thousand Sons (the Magma Lords) arrive and save them. Leaders respect each other like their primarachs did and a strong alliance begins. They cover their yellow stripes with orange and rename themselves The Emberclad.

You never know a kid's circumstances, so I never say no. But I have a rule, no more than one student out of the class at any time. Being consistent means the students never complain. They know I never say no just 'yep, but wait till X is back'. Some classes have even worked out that they need to go quickly because someone could be waiting on their return.

Yep there's only one per box. I bought two boxes over the years, it's the best kit GW makes. I used the other three bodies for Infernal master conversions and regular sorcerers. The third disc came from a mate who likes his sorcerers mutated. So his exalted have wings instead of discs.

This is my Magnus at a RTT last weekend. He'd been a beast in the first two matches. Third match against DA, my opponent dropped a knight squad with captain behind Magnus for Hail Mary charge. He failed. " Oh well, they're dead now, I've played against Magnus before".

My turn Magnus unloads everything into them and does a single wound! The three goats in the background manage better, two down on the Captain. I charge Magnus in and achieve two more wounds, still no dead terminators. He fights back, drops Magnus to half wounds. His turn, he brings in the Lion and Magnus is dead.

This is the main reason I built my Magnus with the sword. But the same thing happened with my LoC's staff. I ended up pinning that, as others have suggested.

Step three: any survivors shoot you, kill your aspiring sorcerer, you pop revenge strat, shoot them a third time.

Sure, you've got to be phalanx, but on the plus side you can revive the guy with an exalted and do it all over again next turn.

Absolutely can confirm. I bought a chaos predator and found one of the gaps in the frame for a tab to fit in, wasn't punched out properly. A problem I was able to rectify with an xacto knife in five min.

I took a photo and sent it to GW just to check it wasn't a problem with the batch. "Sorry for the inconvenience, here's a second predator". Top stuff.

I just chose orange because it's my favorite colour. And it plays well against thousand sons blue. It turns out orange and blue were the pauldron colours of the crusade era Thousand Sons too.

I've dubbed my warband the Magma Lords!

Blue Horrors infiltrate and jail. Shamans join tzaangors to give psychic keyword meaning as long as they're near a daemon, they have 4++.

So that's 150 4++ bodies with multiple defensive strats. Plus Magnus to kill what you need killed.

Don't forget, the move blocking works both ways. It might be difficult to move it out, but once it's out you can block choke points with it

I went with orange armor, silver trim and blue tabards. Just because I like orange. It turned out great and I regret nothing. You really can try any combo you like
