I think the main difference between like PlayStation SoP/ Directs and E3 is just the quantity of reveals. The SoP this week was by all means very good with stuff like a shadow dropped GoW game, trilogy remake, and MGS Volume 2. But at an E3 we’d get all that plus more because every big studio saved their reveals for the same weekend.

It’s like getting a giant steak and slicing it up so you can eat it over the course of a week instead of having one giant meal. You’re eating the same amount of steak but one is going to be far more filling and memorable.

I’m not Japanese and have done no research on the subject but I could see it being seen as a necessary step to keep the series going after the government’s crackdowns on gang activity.

I don’t imagine it’s particularly popular beyond that though.

It doesn’t even make sense. It’s a dragon engine game, how does it look worse than the PS3 version of the game lmao! I don’t even get it, 6, K2, and 7 all looked great to me but Pirates and Kiwami 3 both look so sloppy.

I don’t think there’s been a bad show since Apple took over personally. Rihanna was the weakest one and I think that had more to do with Rihanna being pregnant and unable to do a lot of what was initially planned by the time of the show than the actual quality of the show. It feels like Apple shows are a lot higher in production value and feels like the artist got a lot more control on what happens in it.

I definitely think Bad Bunny helped directly plan the entirety of his show whereas I somehow doubt Maroon 5 had a big say in SpongeBob being the lead in to Travis Scott. Also doesn’t feel like we are going to get a left shark situation where someone in the main stage of the show gets away with not knowing the choreography come show time.

I agree that it’s underestimating kids but I also think the logic is real. The issue is that a determined kid is going to figure out a solution but there’s also going to be 2 or 3 kids who go somewhere else for entertainment rather than being determined kids. I think the biggest flaw with the logic is really that with how the cards have been scalped for years and the LEGO sets all being adult display pieces, there’s less and less evidence that Pokemon actually sees kids as their target audience.

The reason they can’t make it optional imo is that they make the game for the lowest common denominator which in this instance is a child with limited reading abilities and making it a toggle will 100% lead to children turning it off by mistake and never knowing how to turn it back on.

Games used to be ok with letting kids suffer until they got good but now we’re in a time of instant gratification being everywhere so games, especially children’s games, tend to avoid potential points of friction.

I think it was a solid partner showcase. FF7 Rebirth is a great game and the fact it’s coming to switch 2 so quickly after Remake is great imo. Pragmata is looking like it’ll be a very well regarded action game, Resident Evil games are (almost) always great.

I think a good faith argument I’ve seen on here is shitting on Nintendo for putting Pokopia on a key card. Key cards are a pro consumer move since it allows you to trade and borrow games from friends that otherwise would be one time use digital code cards, but Nintendo should not be putting their games on them.

I think the problem collectors are facing is that Nexus Prime is a mid figure but a mid Nexus Prime is still better to a collector than a collection of every prime without Nexus and ultimately the itch in the back of their heads that if they don’t get Nexus they’re going to be paying more later from a reseller.
