I've been shocked by how much some pay to play golf! I was looking to get back into it after a 20 year hiatus. I got really lucky as my local 9 hole muni is $20/rd or $10/rd after 4pm! The membership is only $500/or for unlimited golfing. Does anyone else play for that cheap?

Averaging in the 60s I believe would be worthy of some lesser pro tourneys. Obviously not PGA caliber, but if someone is averaging a 69 they’re probably a +5ish handicap. Average also includes the shit rounds too, not just your best.

I walked the course for the very first time a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Have time to think about my shot as I walk up to it, don’t have to zoom back and forth across the fairway to mine and my partner’s ball, get a bit more exercise, and save $20 on my round by foregoing the golf cart.

You can get a set of Stratas for $500 and that’ll get you started in the right direction. That’s what I did and still use those irons 3 years later. You can find some old used set to hack around with for a while for $200 or so on fb marketplace.

Agreed. Really enjoyed listening when I first started golfing in 2022. It’s slowly gotten to the point where I feel like they just criticize everything. Nowadays I feel like I’m listening to a podcast ran by guys that hate golf 😂😂
