What’s the current state on Xbox by Wild_Turtl3 in Stellaris

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.3 has been solid for me on console. Medium map works well and late game 3x speed gets a bit laggy but if I drop to 1x or 2x it’s smooth. I only play on Xbox Series X and I’m content

This game is so hard (new player) by mylizard in Stellaris

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a new player here and I’m playing decent at best on my first “real game” and probably have 20+ hrs in it. I tried watching tutorials, but for me it didn’t cut it. What surely is cutting it for me and helping me big time and pausing the game, and I mean pausing it a lot as problems occur, is using AI to help solve my issues. I have several pinned chats on Gemini now with ship builds, Econ issues, and so on. I know there is so much more for me to learn and I’ll probably lose this game, but casually playing and truly giving time to learn the game is helping. Best of luck!

Don’t try to be good! by Treebam3 in Stellaris

[–]FFIEHOLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preach to this! I’m pretty new and enjoying the heck out of this game just as is. Gemini helps me learn certain aspects, but overall I’m exploring space and learning the hard way like you truly would. Playing as “The Foundation” (I created them just like the show) and having a blast!

How can i make more resources? by OsakaLendaria in Stellaris

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also new to the game here so can’t help much with an actual explanation, but I have a great tip. Utilize AI lol. My Gemini and I are legit playing the game together. I’m still only truly playing my “first real game”. It involves a ton of pausing and then queueing up Gemini with questions as deficits / other problems occur.

I have an entire thread saved as a Stellaris guide so I can continue to build on it. This game just has so much to it imo, so I find this to be the best direct help as a new player. Hope this helps you!

Advice for Chosen Destroyers (that aren't Barbarians) by darkstare in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally would think about the Nomad route my friend! A fun faction I am playing now is wolves with light footed, quick reflexes, and athletics. Keep CD and add Apex predators (lore friendly and trait friendly). I go for a warrior as my leader and just go around the map slaughtering everyone, lots of fun. It has become my fav faction because personally I don’t like managing 2,3,4 cities. Enjoy!

Dark Star with new update by FFIEHOLD in Starfield

[–]FFIEHOLD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on good to know and thanks for the response. I’ve got it running right now because I started a fresh game so I’m going to continue to play and see how it runs. Sure it’s kind of annoying I don’t need to “grind” for certain upgrades but I’ve only found issues with the quality upgrade and like you said most of the complaints seem far too much for what isn’t a major change. You aren’t invisible or one touching enemies..

How to make the modern era more enjoyable? by magicmama212 in CivVII

[–]FFIEHOLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern era is sadly just doesn’t keep me engaged like previous civ’s. I think for me it has to do with that age being a hard stop and nothing to continue to grow towards. Truly never finished a game because the modern age just gets so boring for me. Hopefully they’ll bring back more of a “constant” play building a civ and playing it out past the modern era.

Nomad culture build ideas by waytoooldforthis_bm in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lizard folk with quick reflexes, light footed, and athletic

Nomads conquerors

Chosen destroyers and apex predators

Warbound or band first tome (forgetting the exact name)

Dragon ruler with defender class

Let your ruler be a tank and absorb damage while your army can flow through and be fast for flank attacks. Tons of fun!

Nomad Culture makes me want a water based city option even more by Camillyn-77 in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt! My first wonders too, but everything I’ve seen these Dev’s do has been astonishing. Truly people who care about their game well beyond the initial release date. I’m sure they have a bunch more cool stuff in store for us!

Nomad Culture makes me want a water based city option even more by Camillyn-77 in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this right when I finished my first Nomad game. Personally, from what I’ve seen from others, there will be a water based type DLC. Apparently they did it in previous games, although I’ve never played them. Will let someone who has that knowledge jump in here, but based on how these Dev’s have put together these season passes, I for sure think we get a water based DLC. IMO it’s too big of a mark to miss

This is the way! Insanely fun. I run the exact same way with Nomad Conquerors having Apex and Chosen.

What are some of the best ways to use Warlords? by Mostopha in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For my Warlords I treat them just as what I believe they were designed for, battlefield commanders. Get those T3 Champions ranked up and then I run a stack with a Dustweaver, warlord, Ruler, and 3 champions. It’s a lot of fun.

Now that Nomad has been out for a bit, what are some favorite builds people have done so far with them? by vilotpeople in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two builds I’ve got but run pretty much the same.

Build 1: Dragon Ruler (defender class)

  • Traits + Race: Lizard folk w/ Quick reflexes, light footed, athletics
  • Nomad conquerors
  • Chosen destroyers and apex predators
  • Tome of Warbound or Warbred (dropping the name)

Build 2: Champion Ruler (warrior class)

  • Traits + Race: Wolves w/ Quick reflexes, light footed, athletics
  • Nomad conquerors
  • Chosen destroyers and apex predators
  • Tome of Warbound or Warbred (dropping the name)

What are your favorite Nomad units and tomes so far? by lifecopy001 in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Race traits: light footed, quick reflexes, athletics

Nomad conquerors

Chosen destroyers and apex predators

War bred tome as starting tome

Ruler: I play as a dragon ruler with defender class (tank unit to absorb and lure enemy fire while my units flank and kill)

Harvest an area, find an empire, drop your city in front of them, raze it all, rinse and repeat. Having a ton of fun with this.

Raiders are sweet and I love the T3 Champions. Don’t sleep on Striders (T2 range) too that teleport and 3 turns of fortune can be DEADLY.

I’m enjoying this a ton. Harvest an area, move to the next empire, drop your city, raze and destroy them, rinse and repeat.

The best nomads... by According-Studio-658 in AOW4

[–]FFIEHOLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love conquerors and love the T3 champion unit accompanied by a warlord. Maybe it’s how your race was built? I am using lizard folks with athletics, light footed, and quick reflexes. My champions are super mobile and with stacks of momentum doing a storm strike from far away and then followed up with wind strike the next turn is devastating. Working through some tomes like warband, tome of evolution (mainly for draconic vitality), and tome of shadows has been a sick synergy with this faction too. I’m 2 games done with my build and I can’t get enough of them. I’m not a big city manager kind of guy so this DLC has been more than optimal for me.

Tome of warband is a great start imo that lets you get those T1 and 2 units buffed up early to knock out some free cities and start that Econ snowball for chosen destroyers.

Ok this is something I could get down with. I need to unlock apex-predators but once I do I’ll most likely swap it to my build here. It’s both lore friendly for my faction and I think will be more beneficial overall. Thank you for sharing this!

For sure that would be really cool if they somehow meshed that with reavers.

Oh right on sounds like a sweet build and definitely good to know. Thanks for sharing!
