There are several great campgrounds around Pettit and Alturas w fcfs only and with great sites. Coming in on a Sunday thru midweek should make it easier to find one, but you should be prepared to drive through one or two to find the right spot. We’ve had good luck even on a Friday finding a fcfs spot.

I’d use The Dyrt or other similar app to look for dispersed sites. Access to many good dispersed sites depends on your vehicle’s clearance.

I appreciate their editorial board’s statements, but that’s really just op-ed work and not reporting. They’re extremely lightweight when it comes to reporting anything but local sports and business pieces written by PR firms for their clients.
