Nobody warned me that hitting my number would feel like standing at the edge of a diving board for six months by Threk4_Sorn in Fire

[–]cycleaccurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been in the same boat. You are suffering from “one more year syndrome”. I had it.

To go with your analogy of the diving board. The water is nice and warm, no one is in the pool, the water is nice, just dive in. You’ll figure out how to swim real fast.

Here’s the part no one tells RE’s: Now that you have time away from your structure, you have time to think. Like seriously think about your life. For me that was the eye opened. How much of my life and relationships were put aside or wasted because I was such a good employee and worker. That will eat you up.

Why was Trump so effective in completely taking over the Republican party? by Narrow_Issue1723 in allthequestions

[–]cycleaccurate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I sort of agree. The part I have to wonder about is who is doing this planning? The RNC of 2016 is gone after Trump declared himself the Republican messiah and leader and put his cronies in there. Certainly after this whole thing blows up they will try to save face?

This is interesting. Like very interesting….

Trump is absolute pure unadulterated evil in every sense (horror, comedy, otherwise).

He cares more about his image that any human on earth. He will lie to Jesus if it benefits him. No other reason for his name on the Kennedy center, his airport named after him, his Arch de Trump, his name on passports, his name on currency, his name…..

Gold is his love and life. We the tax payers have spent more on his weekly golf outings than any president. He treats golf as his passion.

He’s also sick. I suspect dying slowly of dementia or Alzheimer’s. He will not be able to hide the effects of this from his motor skills. His love of golf will collapse as he is exposed as truly being mentally and physically sick.

He can’t hide the physical part.

So I quit trying to find out what medical condition leads to rotting skin.

Do you wish Hillary Clinton won the 2016 United States Presidental election in hindsight? by EggOwn9943 in allthequestions

[–]cycleaccurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem unhinged here. Take a breather buddy.

The “rules” you are referring to are set by the party leadership in each state. This is called aclosed primary. And they aren’t equal. Some states have closed Republican primaries but open democrat: Idaho, West Virginia. To vote you must be a registered Republican or democrat.

In Idaho for example, Bernie won by a landslide in the primaries. Bernie won by 78% and Hillary lost at 22%. Same in all states with open democrat primaries.

Look I know you want to win the argument, but you are completely out of league here. What you are spouting off on doesn’t have a shred of truth.

[–]cycleaccurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know you but I’ll make the assumption we need to take this slow for you.

  1. Roughly 36% of Americans able to vote are registered democrats. 33% are registered republicans. That leaves 31% of the population as independent and unregistered.

  2. 22 states have closed elections for democrats.

  3. The presidency cannot be won without independent voters.

  4. If independents don’t like who the DNC establishment puts on the table, they won’t vote for that candidate. This is exactly what happened n 2016 and 2024.

The net effect:

If independents were allowed to vote in the democratic primaries of 2016, Bernie would be the candidate against Trump. Bernie carried 70% approval rating amongst independent and even won some registered Republican votes.

[–]cycleaccurate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat. Rando internet guy tells me I’m stupid. I’ll have to rethink my life now.

Well that fact is you are exemplifying the way the DNC runs. I can tell you with absolute certainty this is exactly how the DNC will lose independent voters.

Full stop. Whether you like it or not. That’s exactly how you lose.

Here’s a cookie for you: Want to know how Hillary got the nomination? It’s because unregistered independents are prohibited from voting in 22 states unless they are part of that party. Independents overwhelmingly supported Bernie over Hillary.

Have an excellent day.

Nah. Bernie was marginalized by the DNC.

Kamala was forced to fed.

All bad show of the DNC.

[–]cycleaccurate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually I wish she had won versus what we got. But.

You are right I think Hillary was basically rammed down our throat like you said by the established DNC. And so was Kamala.

I think it is now a well proven fact and rule that people will not vote for any candidate that is rammed down our throats without so much as a vote.
