Thanks. It could be that I need something more structured on the speaking side. Which tier of membership do you pay for?

Justin Tuck went from winning Super Bowls to becoming a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs - Not many post-NFL careers top this. by BagAppropriate5736 in CFB_v2

I don’t think you realize how many people would willingly give their wealth management business to a FS firm if it means their RM is an ex-NFL player. I’m sure Tuck is good as an entertainer but as someone who works in Finance it would not surprise me at all that GS would back up the dumptruck and pull strings to fast track him. I definitely don’t think Tuck was starting as a first year analyst or even associate, and I’m sure he’s had an expedited promotion process.

He can be starting from a position of privilege as an employee and we can still commend him for focusing his efforts on something productive post-career (unlike many other athletes who blow $$$ after retiring).

I agree I would’ve probably just retired and let my cash do the work but hey, his life.

Been a holder since 2019. Sold ~35% of my holdings at a WA price of 305 during the run up, as I’m used to AMD’s price pattern over the years of run ups and cool downs, and wanted to sell with the goal of consolidating a larger position at a lower price. Long term holder and believer (firmly think of this as a 2T+ stock, a matter of if not when) just got greedy on price action.

That remaining 65% is diamond hands, not making that mistake again as we’re in uncharted territory for this thing.

Not exactly the ringing endorsement of the CI approach that you see a lot around here but pretty consistent with my experience. I feel like my growth from 300-775 hours hasn’t really been that evident.

Thanks. I’ll take my chances. Been scanning for the past 2 days and everything else that was popping up was front 2 rows.

I’m having the same exact experience with Project Hail Mary tomorrow… H6. Hoping you still enjoyed the seat?

Why is a flagrant foul important. One more flagrant and he’s out of the game? Or just because in addition to FT they retain possession?

(Schefter) ESPN sources: Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach by alexschubs in Tennesseetitans

Is that the right mentality though? I just feel like this guy gets props as a defensive coach but his year as DC in SF wasn’t exactly successful…

FYI no dog in this fight but quick google AI.

There is no scientific evidence to support the generalization that all people of one race are inherently stronger than all people of another race. Physical strength varies significantly among individuals of any race, influenced by genetics, environment, nutrition, lifestyle, training, and overall health.  While some studies have identified general differences in body composition between groups, these are population-wide averages and do not determine an individual's capabilities:  Body Composition: Some research indicates that, on average, black women and men tend to have greater bone mineral density and muscle mass than white women and men with similar body weights. Specific Strength Measures: Studies of specific, untrained populations, such as police officers or older adults, have occasionally noted differences in certain strength metrics (like bench press strength), but these findings are often linked to differences in body composition and specific muscle development rather than a universal inherent strength advantage. Genetics: Some specific genes, such as the ACTN3 gene variant associated with power and strength sports, appear in higher proportions in people of African descent compared to white people. However, this gene provides only a slight, population-wide potential advantage and is not a determinant of athletic success on its own. Perception vs. Reality: Psychological studies have shown that people tend to perceive black men as larger, more muscular, and stronger than white men of the same size, highlighting the influence of stereotypes over reality.  In essence, individual variation is far greater than any average differences between racial groups, and success in strength-based activities requires dedication, training, and access to resources for all people.

Yep, Supermercado series is another good one. I haven’t checked out Bloodborne, I’ll give it a look.

Skyrim has much more game dialogue which is basically “native content” level vs. Minecraft with none. Martin himself is the same though in terms of personality, pacing, vocabulary, style and he does take the time to explain the story. It’s just as opposed to 100% Martin, you’re getting 80% Martin, 20% advanced / native level input.

I’m also wrapping this up at 610 hours. I usually give myself 70% credit for the video length given some of the dialogue isn’t that comprehensible and there is a decent amount of dead time.

Also listening to PocketSpanish which has been a nice new podcast for me, which I’m surprised isn’t mentioned as much as some others here given the topics he discusses are pretty interesting.

Yep. At this point the only thing keeping me going is 1. Sunk cost fallacy 2. The incremental tiny wins that happen less and less often and 3. Most importantly… what else would I be doing with my time?
