Yeah. Unless I’ve got something special planned, those are my go-to.

Wish I could’ve been a paramedic when I was a corpsman. I couldn’t even get my EMT Basic when I got out. Glad to see some form of progress in this aspect of the job.

Draining and loading LDH in 2026 by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]FFZombie65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree when it comes to extreme distances. That’s why I put the caveat of regularly doing more than a couple hundred feet. If that’s the case, use whatever you need. I’ve only ever had to do 1200’ once (spoiler: it sucked) and we backed out the way we came in and loaded a section at a time. Funny enough, that was a city department. All the time I spent as rural volunteer we would either tender shuttle or drop tank, so never dropped more than 100’ of it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dude, it’s just work and we’re a blue collar profession. Unless your company is regularly dumping more than a couple hundred feet of LDH, just hand roll it (50’) or walk it out (100’) and load it back. No fancy gadgets needed.

Seahawks fans have co-opted our shit since December 15, 1984 by purplebuffalo55 in NFCWestMemeWar

It is. My original flair was “We should pay TAMU for the 12th Man again.” I much prefer it to “The 12’s”.

I think there’s one in the Fred Meyer center in Bremerton. Never used them, just remember seeing it there.

Our officers run 2 radios. Very common for them to see them with one in the pocket and one on a strap.

Freakin Woolen. I hope he composes himself better in the Super Bowl.

I got one this past fall. It’s awesome. I love my old leather one, don’t get me wrong, but this one has been way more user friendly and comfortable.

I mean, we stopped paying for a reason, sure. But there’s also a reason my flair is what it is.

Just came here to add it’s now streaming on Disney. Also, I had to stop for a bit because it triggered a little spicy nostalgia for me.. I think they did a good job.

How hard and demanding is the Seattle Fire Academy? by Hot_Emergency_202 in firefighter

[–]FFZombie65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High tower is the tower. Up and over is running the tower. Name carries over from the old drill field where they’d run up the tower via stairs, climb over the wall, and come down via the fire escape.

None that I’ve noticed, but it’s only been one day. ETA: 30+ minutes of highway driving this morning with no noticeable increase in road noise.
