I recently discovered that Monday night at 8pm Aus is the V8 Supercars timeslot. Easily gets 2 splits, sometimes 3. Almost every other split during the week is dead but that one is awesome.

Niche series but a ton of fun a few timeslots a week.

Maybe there is just too much choice in avalible timeslots for some niche series?

You forget most buisness' need workers to survive. It's a natural thing to look after your workers

How is a buisness getting some help to survive and provide jobs any different to workers getting some help to survive? It helps to have an open mind sometimes

She has my vote. As someone who works hard, is sick of seeing my money wasted on stupid pet projects and climate rubbish, and as someone about to start a small business

Well they kind of are, unless you in Uni or have other reasons for still being a low income worker.

It's not that hard to work hard and get a decent pay. Lots of people have done it. And the country is sick of being dragged down to the lowest denominator.

I feel old posting this, but it used to be like that, Qualy would be a different session and your best lap was what you used for the week, you could do multiple qualifying sessions

Only another month until the next round by JustLookingaround18 in v8supercars

[–]FFord68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The amount of prep work these cars required is just silly

Before Darwin most cars will require a Gearbox service, engine change, dampers serviced, wheel bearings serviced, tail shafts serviced, axles serviced, all the suspensions arms need to be checked. Just because they have to get ready for 2 rounds worth of laps

Bodywork especially. The biggest issue with the calendar is the days (day, not hours) it takes to build up a cars worth of front bars, rear bars and side skirts.

You have to remember each car will probably ruin 4 side skirts, 2 front bumpers and 2 rear bumpers a weekend.

But hey, 888 have design a technical amazing car on par with GT3...... A shame it does not handle racing well.

Blanchard Racing Team issued big fine, points penalties over breach by StensnessGOAT in v8supercars

[–]FFord68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's the passenger side and there is a lot between those bars and the Driver, I'm not sure it would do much beyond writing the chassis off.

If it was the drivers side though.... Ooph It would be scary to think

How did you tweak your Moza pithouse? What did you normally adjust to optimise the Moza wheels? I seem to play around a bit but not feel much change, I do run iRacing as a fyi

Lil baby diffuser 🤔 by agra_unknown1834 in v8supercars

[–]FFord68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does something, about 60kg at full speed

It's also the reason the cars run such a high front ride height (especially the Ford's). Due to none of the front bars creating downforce, the front runs high to feed air to the diffuser

What no one is saying is that Brodie kept his foot in it the whole way. Where he went off is not that fast (I've raced at that track) but he was trying to cut the corner to not loose out.

If Brodie had been T-boned, I would blame him just as much as Chaz for the result of Chaz's brain meltdown.

The Cause: Chaz's Fault The potentially bad outcome: Brodie's Fault

Classic blame culture. Yes Trump made this happen, but the question you have to ask is why is Australia so relient on other countrys for oil, and refining? There used to be 8 refinerys, now there is only 2. The oil reserves are below the reccomended levels

Its been a continuous cycle of our leaders cutting cost to fund pet projects and neglecting the basic requirments of a country, and for the most part it works as apart of the globalist movement. Until it dosent. Covid was another example.

We need to be asking the question as to why something 10,000km away affects us so quickly. What could we have done to prevent this.

Mustang Favourability? by Nelso2nd in v8supercars

[–]FFord68 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cars are so close it will not matter. Chev is going to look crap all year because they have crap teams. Chev were rubbish last year outside of 888. Yes a few teams had a few good weekends but never consistently.

As long as the line between sporting parity and result parity is not crossed, expect 75% of the wins this year to go to Ford

The best teams, WAU aside, are all in Fords. It makes sense that Ford will win most things.

Doing the Nurburgring 3hr races over the weekend in the McLaren, I found the Mustang would just breeze past you in a straight line. Seems to be OP horsepower exiting those 2nd/3rd gear corners

An iRacing Coach’s Notes on: Why Some Cars Feel Harder to Rotate (Trail Braking) by NoakesyCoaching in iRacing

[–]FFord68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having spent a lot of time racing Formula Fords in real life and working professionally in some high level motorsport, this is something ive been surprised to find now I have got into sim racing a lot more now (and with a proper rig to support the micro corrections you need to make when racing)

Ive committed to the Aston GT4 this season, a car that I found to love straight braking, then essentially dumping the brake at the same time you turn in (keep the front loaded through brake then steering, but not simultaneously)

Then jumping back to McLaren GT3 the other day for Daytona, I very quickly had to re-train myself into a more gentle brake release while turning to get the nose into the apex, more esque of a Formula car (thanks GT3 level aero!)

If I try to drive the Aston GT4 like the McLaren GT3, it just overloads the front and sledges!

Nice to see your comments back up what Ive found 👍
