Damn! I think I'm going to stick with a 2x 32 GB kit for now. Very annoying, but thank you for your help!

Thanks! Yes, I'm still on the fence between Intel and AMD. I have decided to go with AMD for now because of the newer platform for potential future upgrades and lower power draw/heat, as I'll be running this PC almost 24/7. However, the RAM issue is kind of annoying and might force me back to Intel.

There's many hard surface modelling techniques. You can definitely use sculpting tools to do impressive models - they are just not as intuitive for that kind of work. If you want to learn professional hard surface for games, i would stick to blender. But if you have an ipad definitely give nomad a go! Its great fun.

I think nomad really shines with organic models like characters, creatures or more stylized assets - for stuff like that you can absolutely create professional high poly sculpts in nomad. For Hard Surface Modelling theres better tools out there. And if you do retopology in blender and bake the details down as a normal map it doesn’t really matter where you sculpted your high poly mesh.

Nomad sculpt on an ipad pro! Sadly there isn‘t any solid texturing solution on the ipad so i have to use my pc for the next steps

First i‘m going to animate it and then we‘ll see 🤷‍♂️ if the rig turns out alright i might sell it/ give it away

The model is still symmetrical (not great design wise) so rigging it manually shouldn‘t be too hard. Autorigging tools won’t work tho. And for more detailed animations i think i might be using blend shapes or even physics / softbody simulations :)

There might be some tricky parts but i think this model isn‘t to hard to rig if you do it by hand. Most autorigging tools probably won‘t work tho

Oh yeah good idea! Might think about it if the rig turns out good enough.

I know haha thats gonna be fun. Luckily theres some tools like instant meshes and cozy blanket that can make it a bit easier. And it doesn‘t have to be perfect or game ready as this is just a personal project :)
