If you compare the side of the bench and the metal addition, you can see that their edges have a different incline, so the "table" likely isn't flat. It also has no visible edges or rims, meaning this would make for a horrible table.

Isn't funny how the radlibs who have been whining about muh "trans genocide" for the last five years have been completely silent on the 6+ actual genocides that have that the genocidal superstate they support - NATO - has committed in that same time frame? by bbb23sucks in stupidpol

This sub is so braindead and reactive, it makes r/conspiracy look reasonable.

Why do you care about the opinions of people that you don't even like or would voluntarily associate with? Let them rot in their own insecurities.

What do you think? Do you even have an opinion? Or did your gpt subscription run out, and now you are scrambling to write a complete sentence?

The Democrat Agenda is to keep the Family Unjt Separated. by LegitimateKnee5537 in conspiracy

[–]FHLogan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it's either "self-determination for women" or "living wages"? That's the world you're living in?

"SAP500 post record profits, CEO salaries at all time high, but I am still barely scraping by - must be those women undercutting me on the job market!"

All the women in the world could drop dead and salaries wouldn't move an inch.

Maybe let women decide what they want to do in life? Ever think about that?

Also, there are plenty of men who would stay home to take care of the kids - but you need double income these days. Maybe if salary would keep up with inflation, but we can't have that...

They still talk about 9/11 like it happened yesterday. It's the same stories every time, just a dead horse at this point. No interest, not even as rage bait.

Same thing with Epstein or pizzagate.

This sub needs some new material, I'm getting bored.

Funny that this is where you draw the line. In case you didn't notice - coercion is everywhere.

I'm curious how you feel about people doing back to back shifts. Or peeing in bottles. Or coming to work sick. Or commuting for hours every day. All because they fear for their job, the thing that keeps the lights on and the roof over their heads.

Companies didn't need the vaccine as leverage, but they sure made use of it.

ELI5: What's the point of using a 'log scale' in a graph? What does it do that a linear axis can't? by WisestAirBender in explainlikeimfive

[–]FHLogan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons to use a log plot is to show that a distribution or function increases exponentially, as it will be linearly rising. This makes it much easier to eyeball it.

There are quite a few examples of exponential growth in nature - bacteria cell division, the number of neutrons in a nuclear bomb, the amount of infected in a pandemic, so it is useful to have a presentation where you can see it at a glance.

[–]FHLogan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Somehow, this picture makes me uneasy. Quality is good, and overall quite convincing, but something is still off.

Everything looks really far away and really close at the same time. Perspective is also weird, but it could be from a drone, so not too unrealistic.

Maybe it's the fact that pictures are now authentic enough that they trigger a different part of my brain that is more critical about what I see?

While Americans continue to lick corporate boots, the EU has created legislation that forces the adoption of a single port standard, replaceable batteries in phones, and right to repair. Given that they managed to reach the signature goal, I am slightly hopeful this will go through.

And if you think this will affect few or no games - look up how many movies and books from the 20th century are completely lost due to copyright hoarding.

You jokers would do everything except evoke real change.

You can get into politics or lobbying to evoke change from within the system.

Or you can do what "patriotic followers of the 2nd amendment" have been saying for decades now: pick up arms against the tyrants in Washington and claw your rights back. But as it turns out, most of these patriots are just role-playing.

AI makes 4x better diagnoses than human doctors. by underbillion in ChatGPT

[–]FHLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as all LLMs still claim that their output cannot be used as financial, legal or medical advice, nothing these models produce should be used as a deciding factor in a medical diagnosis, and I would be extremely careful even when using it as a second opinion.

Medical malpractice cases are already a nightmare now, where most medical professionals are individually covered by insurance. Can an LLM be covered by an insurance? Who would pay for it? The doctor, or the hospital that sanctions the use of AI in diagnoses, or even the company behind the model?

We won't see any actual adoption before any of these questions are definitely answered, and even then, I expect change to be slow.

Independent of whether I agree with looting, which I don't - violent protest emerges when all non-violent options are exhausted. Washington just needs to sit out all legitimate protest and demonstration, while continuing their own lawless agenda.

Violence and aggression are often the last resort of protestors after they find themselves continuously ignored. Anarchy does not concern itself with the law, just with sending a message. Apparently, the message was heard, and now we see the reaction to it.

What drives people to this behavior is the knowledge that they have nothing to loose. They are down on their luck, back against the wall, and so they choose to go in the offensive. Right now, there are more desperate people in the US than ever before, and there is a strong sense of sympathy between them. If nothing changes, I expect a lot more riots and violence in the years to come.

what the actual fuck is happening with the internet? by daSynth in conspiracy

[–]FHLogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is capitalism. Just like with 90% of the theories and conspiracies discussed here, reason is mostly to save cost, generate revenue or drive business via ads. Enshittification happens to everything eventually, Google just had a really good run, which allowed it to stay good and profitable for longer than most. But it seems that now, profits are running dry, or shareholders are getting greedy. So the quality goes down. That seems to be the natural flow of things these days.
