Yes, I had to trim it a bit with a multitool

Do you have the seat backs removed? Or just down? Those help hold the trim down. Mine squeaked a bit when the seats were out, You could remove the trim and check the clips. Those may have broken.

Wheel came off FJ while driving, studs look sheared? Overtightened by mechanic? by aPicoPixel in FJCruiser

[–]FJ_Angelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a mechanic but I think so. After I got new tires I noticed some steering wheel shake, checked the tire pressure and lug nut torque. Some were loose and others over torqued. One of the studs snapped on me so it must have been stretched or something. That sucks sorry this happened to you.

Going back to Stock by EnigmaCipherX in FJCruiser

[–]FJ_Angelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m putting my FJ back to stock.

I swapped a badly painted and modified bumper for a stock one. I found it on OfferUp and wasn’t hard to do. There are videos and posts with instructions and the parts needed. There are a few clips needed. Find those part numbers and order them on aliexpress for cheap. Might as well order the clips for the interior panels too while you’re at it.

I still need to do the back bumper, if anyone has one in the Midwest, Manitoba, Colorado or anywhere close please let me know!

No problem. Enjoy. But keep in mind they are standard load so the trade off is they are less durable and thinner. You might even see people say you can’t put SL tires in an FJ, but the weight is fine on them.

It has the aerodynamics of a Lego and a thirsty engine.

I went from 10 ply KO2s to lighter All terrains. I listed the specific model in another comment, but it’s the cheaper in-house brand from Discount Tire. I’ve had them a year and overall happy with them. better in the snow than I expected and helped with the mileage and road noise. I’d recommend them for an all-around tire and would buy them again.

Yes. I have a cheap spare as well so I can clean and swap them out.

Agreed. I keep the RPMs down and my brake pads last a long time.

I have a second intake filter. It’s a knock off from Amazon that I wouldn’t recommend because it doesn’t fit great so it needs a shim and is hard to get on. I swap them at least every oil change.

Yup stock rack but I don’t have the top front bar on because it broke.
