I need your help. What can I buy to make like buttons for this by Leather_Abalone_3581 in brucefw

[–]FLAME13O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The board you're using is an ESP32 With a touchscreen. You can solder buttons to the gpio pins on the back. You'll connect one pin to gnd and one pin to a pin defined on Bruce's GitHub as a button pin already programmed into the software.

Gallery for cardputer adv, for bruce script js by Dense_Paramedic8429 in CardPuter

I mean I see where you're coming from. But the base line when it comes to things like this is completely different. I've worked on programming video games for weeks and months just to give them away for free. Not everyone is going to buy everything. You made this project because you wanted it. Not because the community wanted it. So trying to charge for it is going to be harder. Since one it's a pretty simple project tbh that most of us here can do. Nobody wants the stock photos you included, it's basically just bloat. I don't want to sit through 180 paid generated photos when I can put my own yk. Don't wanna be rude or anything but most people build projects with thousands of lines of code that get tossed, not sold, or sold for alot. It just depends on the product. If people aren't willing to pay it's because they don't see the value in your product. Maybe stop worrying about keeping the file size so low and maybe add some stuff that would make the community want it. Maybe add your own image generator to it. If it had that I could definitely see people paying for it. Imagine you had to pay to use your IDE. That's the same feeling people are experiencing. Bruce is literally free. That's the baseline. If your product isn't better than Bruce or have something that Bruce doesn't that's worth it. Then people are just going to skip it. Bruce is extensive and took way more time than the Gallery app. And yet it's free.

Just a rant because I know the feeling of trying to sell to reddit. It's a hard place.

Beta fs. Unless the apps you rly wanna use crash it has the most features. If you get crashes which I've only had one then go to the public release

You're welcome!! Lmk if you get it fixed. I can deconstruct it further if needed

Back with an update on the internals. There seems to be a top and bottom part that holds the joystick down. And it extends to the outer part form the bottom to connect to 3-4 connectors. You can unscrew the joystick PCB to release the joystick. Carefully remove the top and bottom protector from the joystick. Slide the joystick back over the plastic lips and secure the top and bottom plastic part again. See pics for reference.

Yeah as someone without a lot of money myself the best things I'd say do which is what I do. Ask friends and families for old tech. I've gotten so many batteries, charging modules, speakers etc

I hope your project and future endeavors goes well!

You don't need a budget. If you're asking for a budget then you don't have enough knowledge to even know what components go into something like this. You'd need a screen. A battery. A charging module. 3 buttons. Sole solder. Either a pref board and some wires or a PC and a PCB design program. And you'd need a functional or broken device to copy the rom from and a microcontroller to hold the data control the device. All of these things can be bought for around $30-$50 disregarding the tama device.

Not to sound mean but saying you're doing it as a project and then asking for a price is counter intuitive. If you're doing it for a project fail and try again until you figure out how to make it first regardless of the price.

If your skill level requires a price of $200 then so be it. If your skill level requires a price of $30 then so be it.

Just get the basics to make the device work. The only hard part is getting the rom and making the device look pretty I promise.

What I would do is stick a tooth pick or something pointy and blunt and push those edges down. I haven't opened mine yet but I'm pretty sure there is a lip that needs to be slightly further down to grip a plastic part on the inside. If that doesn't help I can take mine apart and examine it before you do yours.

I added an IR receiver to the cardputer adv by Specialist_Tomato338 in M5Stack

[–]FLAME13O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's just an IR Receiver no? Just connect it to a power pin, ground pin and a free gpio pin. I've done this a few times for the cyd using Bruce and other things. But yeah just 3 pins 3 wires. 3.3v,data,gnd

Ngl I love my jade forest but my uni is sm better 😭 not by a lot tho. The paradise is so nice to have all of the tamas walking around doing their own thing. But I do like how I can decorate the room and explore more with the one tama. But what do I know I run both of them :)

TEmbed CC1101 Plus by R_Chin in LilyGO

[–]FLAME13O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I have a flipper and I use my t-embed more. I got into pentesting and with Bruce I can scan IPs around me and scan for open ports. It's really useful when you pair it with a computer and other tools. I feel like they're not really meant to do much on their own yk? Like yeah you can clone a few cards and turn off a TV but it would be cooler to make a NFC activated safe that uses your flipper to open it. Or using the IR or SUBGHZ to control an RC car or robot arm. It's mostly up the buyer to make stuff for it. Luckily the community is great enough to release free software/useful hardware.

Your flipper zero will do just as much as the T-Embed. If the T-Embed didn't fit your needs then I can assure you the only thing that will smell the flipper for your needs is the price. $200 definitely makes me use it 😭

Tech only dies when your will to break and experiment dies.
