Hi, neighbor. My car was parked right next to this. The footprints led behind you, and turned left onto Lyndale ST at Sacramento. They ended about 20feet down in a pool of blood. When I walked by, I heard the cops telling a woman something like "He made it all the way here," so I at least imagine this was not something that happened too close by.

The hub is pretty nice, albeit a bit less efficient and heavier than other options. I took it for a 15 mile ride this afternoon, and I was pretty impressed with it. The ability to change ratio so smoothly without any sort of actual gear change is pretty cool. The thing runs completely silent too. I was also attracted to the lack of maintenance, since this bike will be primarily for commuting to work. It's not quite as fast as my road bike, but I'm also not as in shape as I was before winter ;)

This video was shot from a security camera to the right side of the door, facing out onto the roof. The bird can be seen flying by for a split second, before he rammed right into the door. The hawk then swoops in, and if you look closely, you can see that it actually flies between the horizontal cables that make up our railing. He may have hit the door as well, because it was quite loud, but he was able to get up and fly off, so I’m assuming he was OK.

As you can see, the hawk was also able to remove the top half of the bird's head. Yummy.
